  1. I'll be contacting you when I have $ for sure!
  2. Prize- 1 Beachin Tactical Lite sling with some fancy new coloring options! Rules- 1-unlimited entries allowed 2-each entry is a picture of a firearm that needs a sling (posted on this page) 3-one entry per firearm 4-get creative! I choose the winner... Not based on the photography skills or even the firearm alone, but the overall picture. This doesn't have to be professional 5-If you win, I need pictures of the winning firearm with the sling to be posted on the Beachin Tactical section of this forum, and on the Beachin Tactical Facebook page. For privacy sake, you can send me the pics, and I can post them. Let your 308ar forum buddies who might not see this post know about it please! Let the pictures begin!
  3. I guess I just don't get Noveske. Most definitely not my cup of tea.
  4. I stay away from all of these fancy pants lubes. Right now I use Lucas, and I have some milpro, but I will just be going over to motor oil I think. I can't help but feel that the gun oil industry is a joke.
  5. It will either be late October by myself, or late October early November with the wife. She works now lol which is difficult to get used to
  6. Tom, that is an excellent idea! That would be awesome!
  7. i think that that strike fire is the one that I was looking at. Depending on what you want I could offer a trade. Or if your willing to hang on to it for a little bit maybe I could buy it.
  8. Ok sweet! Yeah, I kept hearing about primary arms. I'll have to check them out. I can't afford to get the wife anything above... Lower mid grade, so that sounds like it would fit the bill! Vortex offers a similarly priced red dot that is popular too, don't they?
  9. Seriously. Not only is the add stupid and lacking in taste, but at least if your going to do a stupid advertisement like this, pick attractive women, dress them in something skimpy AND attractive, and actually take them time to teach them how to utilize a weapon, instead of looking like a bunch of bimbos shouldering a hammer drill. Wow. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=JbMdPStxD10
  10. This looks pretty cool! Don't these guys make the barrels for the new DPMS GII rifles! I remember the owner of a barrel place in Montana had a video where he leaked that he was making barrels for a new dpms rifle, which I automatically thought of as the GII, but I forgot the guys name and company! Anyways, I was thinking of a pencil weight 16" rifle length gas system for the wife... What do yall think? It should shoot like a powder puff especially with a comp on it.
  11. Thanks for the info guys! I am not super worried about Recoil, more just about overall weight. She is right handed, but left eye dominant, so she has to shoot on her weak side. And weighing in at a whopping 105lbs, her strong side isn't all that strong either ;-) But I am thinking that I'll build this light, put a nice small red dot or holographic sight on it, and a fat compensator lol Probably just because I like fat compensators.
  12. Tom, I might take you up on some bartering, and I will save up for that faxon barrel! I am excited about this build. My wife is spoiled!
  13. So, it has begun. I will keep everyone updated on what I am buying, and I will ask questions from you guys about what I should get next. This should be fun! But slow. So, my wife doesn't know, but her build just started with an Aim Bcg-x. It has a nib body, and everything else is nitride. $100 shipped. I just sold 50 slings to a local pawn shop, and this is the only $ that will get splurged, because every other cent will be going to prepping for the NPS preppers expo in Louisville in October! I just dropped $550 on sling supplies, and I got a new color, so when my order gets in, I will be doing a giveaway of said color sling! It's going to be fun! I am not on here as much as I should be, but you guys are awesome, and my friends here will be the only ones I will be going to for advice! Also, I might end up hitting for for sale section here pretty hard for this build lol
  14. I would say that cerakote raises any hardness more than anodizing. Was it cerakote or ionbond dlc that was originally developed to harden the gears in f1 race car transmissions?
  15. That is flipping beautiful Tom. Have I mentioned yet that I should be back in the Tucson area by late Oct?
  16. I am bias against psa now ;-) but I know for a cheap build they are pretty sweet! I think that I am going to try to completely part this together. It will be WAY more expensive than the Psa route... But hopefully I'll get exactly what I am looking for :-)
  17. And now I want the vdi ultralight 16.5" rifle length barrel... But it's $300 and is, and will be out of stock (if I ever get around to this) It might take me 10 years to get my wife a rifle LOL
  18. Anyone heard of Tennessee arms Co? These lowers are supposed to be pretty sweet, are cheap, and light. I have heard good things. http://www.tnarmsco.com/hybrid-polymer-lower-receiver-any-color-free-shipping/ The Mag lowers and uppers are really cool, but more spendy. And I think it is battle arms that is making a REALLY cool looking matched light weight upper and lower... That thing is beautiful. I know that I can go forged aluminum cheap. I am thinking of balancing cost, weight, and strength, and looking at everyone's options. :-) I wish I could do this build for 500ish, but I want to get nicer parts, so I'll do it one piece at a time.
  19. Awesome Tom, I can't wait to see it!
  20. Hey guys, I would like to build an Ar for my wife in 556 (gasp!), and I am sure that some people build normalish ar's, and I trust the people here more than anywhere else. I want to build her a light weight, and very affordable Ar. But this topic could be valid for 308s also... I am a 1911 guy. A steel guy. For Ar's, an aluminum guy. But is a "quality" polymer lower acceptable, or foolishness?
  21. It is irritating that everyone says that everything is proprietary lol
  22. Holy Crap... Now the Armalite snobs have come aboard, time to abandon ship... lol jk These companies say that they are proprietary, because it is easy. Windham told me the same thing. And I get it. They aren't proprietary, but they don't want to be held liable for fitment to another manufactures parts. But, if you have an Sr25 pattern rifle, or a proprietary pattern rifle, or whatever the heck else, and you sell individual parts, maybe DON'T MISLABEL THEM??!! I would think that this would be simple... For instance, if I was selling parts for a Honda S2000, and I labeled them as being "Miata parts" people would loose their mind if they didn't read the fine print and got a piece that didn't fit. Likewise, if your parts wont fit an Ar10, being that certain parts are not interchangeable, then it would make sense not to list your parts as Ar10 parts. Maybe since they label their product the Pa10, it should just say Pa10? Maybe I should just start emailing them like... every day.
  23. I didn't forget, I didn't even realize. I'm living under a rock I guess.
  24. Never, ever would I own one of those... I can't explain why I hate them so much, except that they remind me of the Mossberg 22lr Ar... and why make a shotgun that has nothing to do with an Ar look like an Ar? Hate them Hate them Hate them. Now here is a shotgun that I can dig ;) Light weight, can be dis assembled, isn't made to like like anything else for no reason, quality manufacturing... And a price tag that I will never be able to afford :-/
