  1. Haha wait, are you saying that there could be a direct correlation between gun free zones (and wanna be gun free zones) and criminal activity!? Why hasn't this been on the news!?
  2. "What do you expect?" Is the problem.
  3. http://www.infowars.com/video-veteran-arrested-at-gunpoint-for-legal-open-carry/ Here is a link to more information, as well as the original video. Is the dude a pric? Yes. Did he do anything wrong, no. If he doesn't win his lawsuit with this video, then we have no rights, and that is that.
  4. It is just getting out because the video was just FINALLY released, and the dude is going to court.
  5. Open carry is legal in Washington, but is frowned upon, and is largely unknown. Also, the video the guy took with his phone has been released, and has been posted on info wars. The police officer, Hernandez, said that the suspect was not breaking any laws, but forced the guy to follow commands that were not possible, after knowingly braking their constitutional oath, to have a reason to arrest him. Kinda like what happened to Thomas Kelly... tasing someone who can not obey your orders because your sitting on his chest tasing him, and using that as a reason to continue tasing... But it is a good idea, if you want to publicly open carry, to let police know before hand. That being said, I open carried a pistol in Kentucky going about my every day activities. A decent number of people open carry around here, but they are all older guys. Since I am younger, I had police called on me multiple times, but was never confronted by police. I know, because while not in uniform, one of the officers said they got a lot of calls about me, and he thanked me for carrying, saying he knew I got alot of crap for it. The only reason I open carried was I was new to ky, and I was waiting for my ky ccdw. But whether you are in hicksville ky, or hippyville Washington, people are stupid, and police are usually better, but its no guarantee. Dont cater to stupid. We do need to be professional and responsible, but dont give the left an inch. If you want to carry a rifle because you think its cool, go for it. You dont need a need to exercise a right. And police need law to enforce, not personal feelings or theology, otherwise they are just punks with badges.
  6. I think as an answer to the title of this thread, no, I do not believe the open carry movement has gone to far. I believe the open carry movement has not gone far enough!
  7. I was just about to post the same link! Edgecrusher, I respect your opinion, but I whole heartedly disagree. I understand the opinion that we need to quietly and responsibly exercise our rights and try to not make a scene, but to this, I am coming to also strongly disagree. These liberals, in my opinion, are too stupid to try to appease. They will ALWAYS want more. If we dont carry our rifles, and open carry our pistols while wearing a suit, they will complain. If we conceal carry, they will complain. If we dont conceal carry, and keep our firearm in the car, they will complain. If we keep our rifles at home, they will complain. If there is no way to appease someone outside of absolute submission, screw em! It is not time for us to lie down or give an inch. Although I would personally like to see a higher class person shown open carrying on the news, we also have to realize that what is passed around on the news and on Facebook is purposefully tailored as a tool against us, and is not an accurate portrayal of gun owners as we are, but is instead how our govt wants us to look to the uninformed. Because they want to keep the uniformed uniformed, that is how power has ALWAYS been held. No, I agree with the dudes open carrying rifles. If the every day citizen saw every man who had a pair carrying a rifle and acting like a gentleman, and saw no crime arise from it, it still wouldn't set in, but criminals would think many times before committing a crime. Heck, Obama would probably orchestrate a mass shooting or shoot out to make them look bad, its not like he hasn't done it already. But they reality is that we need to win. We need straight police who uphold our constitution, and we need to win by whatever means necessary, because if we loose another inch of our rights we wont have anything more to stand on. This man is a prime example of how police are, ONLY IN CERTAIN CASES, abusing the law and neglecting their oath. I am sure it is harder every day to be a good cop, and my prayers go out to those who are such.
  8. Haha skynet is already active ;-) My hatred for Google is only surpassed by that of Facebook, Starbucks, and Nabisco products... lol
  9. I used to go to surplus ammo and arms too! It was right behind tactical tailor! Sadly, neither surplus ammo and arms, nor tactical tailor are what they used to be... but they are still good :-)
  10. It will be a long time before ill be able to afford one brother, I apologize. But if someone would like to send me one to see, ill shoot it and pay return shipping once I know
  11. Well, I got the new handguard on, and finally my two dpms' match. The gunsmith had to torch the muzzle brake, and still had to throw a giant cheater bar on his wrench with the barrel in a vice to get the flash hider on. If dpms is listening, this is a STUPID idea. Hopefully I will have a range report this weekend!
  12. Let me tell you about my relationship with photobucket... LOL I use their app on my phone, and the app randomly decides to download pictures of its own choosing, then dowload them between five and twenty five times... then I rip my hair out and start deleting, which sometimes doesnt work... Anyways, the black and tan is a good look!
  13. I personally cant stand one point slings... I have met very few infantrymen besides myself who used one, and for good reason... if your moving more than a couple of k... they are uncomfortable. Yes, looking menacing isn't polite. But our butthurt politically correct society needs to grow up. They state they have the right not to be "intimidated", but our first amendment (contrary to the leftist beliefs) does not only apply until someone is offended, intimidated, or scared... It is sad that our nation is pushing an agenda that involves us sissifying our children. The left doesnt want men in this nation, that would be contrary to their agenda.
  14. I agree that there is a body of people taking the open carried rifle thing in the wrong direction, and it will only be played in the direction the media wants, but the bottom line is the average citizen doesnt need a reason to carry a rifle in the open to do so, whether it has a wood stock and he is out in the woods, or whether he is at McDonald's. If we degrade our own rights on this issue, it will degrade our rights on other issues, and we may need the right to carry our rifles in the future. There is no need to exercise a right. Carrying a rifle is protected by the first, as well as second amendment. If we look down on these people for carrying their rifles, and if we say they dont "need" to carry their rifles, the left will come right back at us and say that we dont "need" to carry our pistols either. But the bottom line is that this is not about "need". The word "need" is way over used anyways. I dont "need" to live away from my parents, or my in laws. I dont "need" decent clothing. I dont "need" more than one meal a day. But this is America. So what to do about some wankers walking around looking like... wankers and giving us a bad name? It might be hard, but as gun owners on a whole, I think we need to step up and support them, while guiding the ones we can to more beneficial protests or actions. There will ALWAYS be Morons with guns. That is what the left is so petrified of. We as gun owners, and humans with some level of cognizant ability, need to minimize the negative image of firearms, and instil education and respect for firearms. But it is our duty, even in difficult circumstances, to never attempt to strip another law abiding citizen of their firearms rights. I mean, if we were to do that, think of all the other freedoms we could loose... we could be forced to wear seatbelts, helmets, we could be forced to buy health insurance, or we could be forced off of public land, or worse, our own land... wait a second...
  15. Your pm400 is the most popular firearm on the page! Its a sweet setup! Here is my most recent sling going out in black and tan. I hope the buyer likes it!
  16. They only have CAD renderings to show their product, then they change the design and cant at least update the CAD rendering? Im all for the little guy, trust me, but I am glad you got your refund, they dont look like a company I would want to deal with.
  17. I do now have black 1" webbing and buckles, as well as od green webbing. I can get od green 1" or 1.5" hardware, but purchasing it AMD having it powdercoated is 5x as expensive. I think I will offer it as an option for extra $ I can get folliage and tan 1" hardware cheaply though :-) I also now have black 550.
  18. Here is my new metal hardware! The 1.5" stuff is hard to find and a bit spendy, but everything for 1.5" is spendy, and in the future, the price will reflect that Its kinda late, so I know the picture sucks, I apologize. Ill get some better ones up tomorrow! My camera doesnt like close ups, and it seems that the quality of pictures it takes deteriorates daily... not to mention my each room in my house is illuminated by one naked lightbulb...
  19. Haha the duct tape should stay out of pictures, you are right! Its an old military habit. maybe its an airbornething. But i can have loose ends flapping (if they are non quick adjust) and iI cant have any metal on metal. And you are spot on on my photography of course. It took me hours to make this sling... this pattern is a nightmare. When I got done it was like 2230, my fingers were all blistered up, and i just wanted to throw something up. From now on, my wife will be my photographer and editor. She uses ribbit, and she is really pretty good at it. Thanks for the kind words and advice!
  20. The tripple Solomon weave is a lot of extra work and time, as well as 50% more material, so it is going to cost $50 shipped for members, and is only available with 1.5" webbing. Also, this sling is mine, and it is the last sling to use plastic hardware. I have to wait until tomorrow for my 1.5" metal hardware to come in, but I am completely set up for 1". I have even more coming, including new color patterns and a 1.5 point sling! Stay tuned!
  21. I agree. I want to make sure that if I send my dollar, and voice my opinion, that my dollar will go further than the aspca and peta... groups that I despise both for their cause, and because of how they line their pockets, and groups who's members might be as strongly convicted (logically so) for their cause. I dont want to be taken advantage of by anyone, but especially not of someone claiming support of the second amendment. I am just critical, and the NRA has not always properly reflected my, or our views. But they have done good also.
  22. I am an NRA member as well. We need all we can get. I guess as gun owners we are just up against such a formidable wall of stupid that seeing any pro gun body or individual cave, or perceivable cave, can get me all fired up.
  23. I use it when appropriate, but I think on certain items either it doesnt belong, or a blue loctite should be used. Flash suppresors, to the best of my knowledge, do just fine with just a crush washer. And I believe the barrel nut, torqued to the proper spec, shouldn't need anything. I am by no means an expert. Its just, to get these things off shouldn't require a torch in my opinion. Loctite is great! But there is a correct loctite for any circumstance where it is needed.
