Marine Corps Bayonets $85-100 + s&h
beachmaster replied to beachmaster's topic in FOR SALE: Used Knives and Bayonets
Shepp- sounds good man! Sketch- ill do some research and let you know what I find! -
In my opinion, if you are lucky, you get one good well placed shot. After that, you loose any element of surprise that you might have had in any situation. People don't like being shot, and they are naturally pretty good at avoiding it. Therefor, for your one good shot, I want to have as much damage on target as possible. The other important thing to remember, is that no matter how much you talk about shot placement, even if you are shooting a laser beam in Halo, you don't get to pin point your enemies eye ball. You shoot what you can, when you get the chance, and if you get another chance you take it, and you keep shooting until the situation is rectified or you are dead, or someone has ran and can no longer be shot. You do not get into a firefight and say... I am going to aim for his for his third inner costal space on his right side... you shoot center mass. If you are lucky, you hit. Somewhere. If you are not, you go to plan b, which is try something different, and get him again. The mentality of "shot placement is key" is irritating to me, because beyond the fact that it is clearly common sense, in reality, it just doesn't work that way. You take what you get, and that is that. If I am only going to land one shot, and it is going to be to some guys shoulder, do I want to hit with a 22lr, a 9mm, a 45acp, a .308, or a 50 BMG? Seemingly complicated issues are usually easier to understand when they are over exadderated. So in this case, I want the 50 BMG. If that shot hit the toe, what caliber do I want? 50 BMG. Big hole or small hole? Big hole. Heavy bullet or light? Heavy. Head shot, or Center Mass? Center Mass! (the last ? is a trick one btw) That being said, could I be killed by a 22 Short from 100 yards instantly? Sure. Could I survive a shot from a 50 BMG point blank? Yup. Its a game of odds. If my wifes, or my own life is on the line, I want the best odds I can get.

Colt is not looking good
beachmaster replied to Toolndie7's topic in Firearm Industry News and Gossip
I might be a little bias... but I think Colt will continue to be going "out of business" until the begin pricing their products accordingly. If they would stop charging so much for their name, they would make a lot more sales, and their name could only benefit... but I feel that they keep their prices artificially high. Just my .02 -
7.95 a box!? dang! Yes, I like this ammo. I am kinda poor... so plinking with the 308 isn't much of an option, but this ammo goes bang every time for me so far, and accuracy has been acceptable for my skill level. (I am not a good enough shooter to notice the difference between a .5 moa load and a 1.5moa load, because I probably don't shoot better than 2-3 moa anyways) I stock up on this ammo, and I reload it, and I actually prefer it to Winchester white box for reloading. The cases seem to be polished more nicely, but more important, seating the primers is very nice in this ammo. It is click click and its right, whereas the Winchester white box leaves me guessing, and I simply try to apply the same amount of pressure on each round.

I agree! I have an M9, and when I first got one of these, I was kinda shocked. It is in every way a superior knife. -

Well, ill look it up, but as long as a milspec bayonet fits it and it has a bayonet lug, then yes. All I have to show the bayonet installed on is a 590, but ill get a picture up anyways :-) -

Hey guys, this might be a little off topic, or out of the norm, but I figure someone here is dying to throw a bayonet onto their ar :-) The bayonets are Ontario OKC3S marine Corps bayonets. I bought a ton of them because I think that they are the coolest bayonets money can buy. PayPal only please Specs Steel- 1095 high carbon, parkerized finish Handle- some cool elastomer :-) they are rubbery Blade- partially serrated, with a sharpened swedge. VERY pokey New condition- $100 with cardboard for the blade but no box for Used very good for $95. Some of these have marine's markings on them in sharpie, and on also has a marines designator etched into the blade. Blade are sharp, in excellent condition! I can clean the sharpy off the sheath if desired, but i figured someone might like it Used great- $85 I have one knife that has had a somewhat harder life. It had light surface rust and a duller blade, so I have cleaned it up and sharpened it. It will perform as good as any! -
Thanks fir the idea blue!

DPMS GII Recon review
beachmaster replied to beachmaster's topic in DPMS Panther Arms LR-308 | Bushmaster 308
I am sorry to say that I didn't weigh the rifle before the change (factory weight isn't always reliable) and I haven't weighed it since to be honest... I can say that I love it, but I will try to weigh it soon... I need an accurate scale! I believe the weight difference between the two rails is over 10oz though. -
Hey guys! I know that this thread is old, and I haven't been around for awhile, but I want to make sure that if ANYONE has any problems with their slings, that they know that I will make it right. Please, send me a pm if you have an issue. If it is catastrophic Ill send you a new sling, if its manageable I would gladly pay for shipping and repair it. If you have decided that it is too short, or I made it shorter than you expected, Ill send you a new sling, and you can send the old one back. If you can't reach me on the forum, send me an email to my personal email at beachmaster777@googlemail.com. I can ALWAYS be reached there. I now have a website in which I keep slings in stock. Thepreppersbunker.net. I also have a bunch of other awesome stuff at crazy prices that I am sure you will like! I hope to become a forum sponsor once I get some revenue going. If you are a forum member that wants a sling, let me know, I have a discount for forum members. Soon I will get yall an actual coupon code.

Big P, how is it lasting? I have my 22 or build on a zombie lower and some color would make it look awfully cool (and silly... but its a 22 :-)) -

I wonder how they did that... I guess just apply into engraving, then wipe the flat surface off with a cloth? -
I have a semi local shop that is getting into it. I wonder if they would also do cerakote, and what they would charge... I guess I would do all the disassembly and reassembly myself, as I dont trust a shop that isn't first and formost a firearms shop to do it. I would hardly trust some "gunsmiths" to do it...

I think that is solid advice. If this paint doesn't hold up and I do it again, I think ill do that. :-) -
This is a bit lighthearted, but after doing a steel plate challenge and having difficulty picking up the front sight post quickly against black plates, I decided that something needed to be done. Out of all the nail polish that I stole from my wife this was the thickest, and covered the best. Ill give yall a long term report when I have one. Take it or leave it, but so far, I am very happy. (And I personally dont believe in owning a battle rifle without zeroed and functional iron sights, so this is very important to me)

How many individual pieces did you drop, and how many kits did you have to purchase? Ill be honest, I'm going to do this, but on a paintball gun first. Did you have to plug the barrel?
-
How tough is the hydro dip itself?
-
Did you out anything like a clear dura or cerakote on it? I would like to do my dpms in a brown snake skin pattern...
-
I have 5 25 rounders and use them in my dpms gii. Although I have not used all of them yet due to my financial retardation, the two I have used had no issues.
-
Blue, do you mean troy industries? I have a troy industries dioptic sight on my gii behind a diamond head, and I REALLY like the combo. I wouldn't sell the troy if I found out that they suck, but i would regret giving them my $ :/
