Is the 'open carry' movement going too far?
beachmaster replied to gnatshooter's topic in Firearm Industry News and Gossip
Oh ok, im trackin now. Hey, if you own both sides of the war, your guaranteed to win right? Im sure the Nra is owned by the same people who own Bloomberg. Nobody really cares about the specifics of these theological debates except for us peasants. Lol the laws dont apply to them anyways. -
For anyone who is interested, my website right now is Facebook.com/beachintactical. If you could like it, I would appreciate it, and if you could suggest it to any gun totin freedom loving friends, that would be even better. Or if you just like seeing all kinds of far right political posts, and you don't get enough of that on your wall already ;-) (I don't endorse facebook, in fact, I hate it with a passion. there is no freedom of speech on facebook, and facebook puts our dollar bills right into the pockets of our enemies)

Is the 'open carry' movement going too far?
beachmaster replied to gnatshooter's topic in Firearm Industry News and Gossip
Well Gnatshooter, I can't totally agree with you on this, which is ok. But what I want is for them to stand strongly behind out rights, drop this "sporting use" crap, and stop backing away from gun rights every time something controversial comes up, which is what I feel they do. After sandy hook I remember them saying something about assault rifles not being necessary, and now this. What I meant by them being limp is that they act like they are only for a little bit of our rights when talking to the libs, and they act like they are staunch supporters of gun rights when talking to the right. They appease the libs by saying we are crazy and rude to carry a longgun, which I staunchly disaggree with, then they turn around and say sorry when they find out we didn't like it. They exist because they are politicians, and they talk out of both sides of their mouth. They are limp. They are fence sitters. The dudes making comments and threats to people was wrong, but I fully support them carrying longguns around. But I do understand what you are saying. Reguardless, them carrrying their longguns around is not simply a second amendment issue, it is more importantly, a first amendment issue. -
DPMS GII Recon review
beachmaster replied to beachmaster's topic in DPMS Panther Arms LR-308 | Bushmaster 308
Alright, new report for anyone following... I took my rifle to a local gunsmith to install the midwest industries keymod rail (because they don't make a genII Ss rail for the GII), because I didn't want to mess something up myself. This rifle is my baby. Well, I got a call from him today... I had heard rumors of DPMS being quite fond of red loctite. The gunsmith couldn't even get the flashider off without a torch, so he contacted dpms. I am afraid the flash hider and barrel nut are red loctited. This might be great for the guy who wants to buy the rifle and never change the muzzle brake or handguard, but it is not great for us tinkerers... which I think might be the majority of the active users on this forum lol So, there you go, DPMS is still at it with red loctite where they shouldn't be, costing me money. I am glad I am not doing it, because I would have destroyed something with a 6 foot cheater bar by now. -
I just read about specific issues in the sig 716, dpms gii, and ruger 762, but the issues had might have been isolated. Who knows.
-
But on a more serious note, there are alot of reviews hanging out there that the gen III Magpulls dont work well in the dpms GII, ruger 762, or Sig 716, so maybe magpul isn't making the genII's anymore, and the companies dont want their gen III because they dont feed properly. Which wouldn't make too much sense if they offered dpms instead, which also didn't feed properly.
-
I personally kinda prefer the dpms mag over the p mag due to its construction and size IF it works. If they dont run right, ruger has definitely made a mistake. They might have done it because magpul is having difficulty keeping up with production. Who knows? If anyone happens to be selling 3 dpms mags that dont work, my dpms rifle loves them, and I could buy them. ;-) In fact, if they wanted to give me a good deal, ill trade them my p mag for their dpms and buy the other two.

Is the 'open carry' movement going too far?
beachmaster replied to gnatshooter's topic in Firearm Industry News and Gossip
sheesh... People have no respect for firearms or life. But with our nations protection of criminals, how can we expect this gun movement to work? We just have to continue doing what is right, and hope that we can at least slow the decline of our rights so we have something to pass on to our children outside of a communist factory job :/ -
My hand is doing well! I still have pain every now and then, but there is nothing better than hard manual labor to get damaged tissue back up to par, and I am up to my neck in it! ;-) Thank the Lord. I was always taught to pray for work, not money, and I have been VERY blessed. The next evolution of my sling will be out next week! I am excited to post some pictures up!

As usual, the NRA is political, and when called upon, limp. I guess that is why they still exist. Baffles of men openly carrying longguns is the true purpose of the second amendment. Because when the second amendment is truly needed, that is what we will be doing. To say no one really needs the longgun, and that they probably wont use it, is EXACTLY what the liberals say about us carrying our pistols, concealed or otherwise. By using this argument, we give them validity, and empower them. They are just as likely to need that rifle, whatever their cause for carrying it, as I am my pistol. And if they do end up needing it, they will be much better off than I am. Dont give these liberals an inch! It is our duty to retake the last mile we have given up! -
I wish I could find the ones above, they are beefy! I had a one point sling in Afghanistan, and I believe it was spec ops brand. It used an hk style hook, and the way it held the rifle on a Midwest industries one point mount caused the sling to fail. Luckily when it failed, I was simply taking pictures with my dad when he was able to visit my fob. For that reason, I cant do metal on metal myself. I think it took 4 months of daily missions to break, but that is WAY to fast. It went to the trash. I returned all my plastic components today, and i will be ordering metal 1.5", as well as an entire line of 1" components to tonight. I have alot going on this week, and no slings are going out, but I am using the down time for r&d, hopefully the Facebook page, and preparing to jump back into this with both feet next week!

that is something that I should consider, and I know a dude who does powder coating, but the company I am looking at, strapworks, powder coats them, and sells in bulk, and it might be a little cheaper/ more time efficient to do it that way. I will just have to see how it plays out. My current distributor is currently searching for what I need. I hope he finds it! But I can have one inch loops in metal, and I can choose between black, tan, and folliage (acu grey blue vomit). I am currently designing a 1.5 point sling, and a tripple wide weave pattern, and I am also learning how to use my sewing machine, so I have a lot going on right now. But I think by the end of the week I will have all my new stuff out, get some good pictures for the facebook page, and I will be on my way to supplying the best slings that I am capable of supplying! I am sending a sling out today to be reviewed by a writer, and I am considering contacting duck dynasty to see if they would be interested in even owning my slings. If I could have them shown in an episode or two, that would be great!

I contacted my supplier, and I will be returning all of my plastic reducer loops, and come hell or high water, I will be replacing them with something that works :-)

98, Ill get that pic to you tonight. I believe I have found some metal hardware that will work, but not exactly what I want, so maybe you can do a little better :-) What I did find has to be custom coated, and although the option of color is cool, my cost will be going up a good bit. Because of the difficulty finding harware for 1.5", I may move to 1" specifically. The largest benefit of the 1.5" webbing and buckle is aesthetic. But who knows, maybe I will find a new source for products and I can offer both! Although I like the idea of offering two grades of slings, I want to make every sling capable of being in the trenches, because for all I know, within my lifetime, I might be fighting in my back yard with someone who happens to be using one of my slings. Hunters might be happy with what I am offering, and I think it is strong enough for my lighter weight firearms, but I think I will make everything strong enough for any weapon in any situation, and I will try to keep the price the same. I appreciate everyone here testing my stuff! I encourage you to push it until it brakes, so I can improve my product as much as possible! And if it does brake, I will replace it. Maybe instead of offering a mid and high grade, I will offer 1" and 1.5", as one inch with metal hardware should be of a similar cost as what I am producing now.

maybe I can get a refund on those plastic pieces... I am really bummed out to hear they were below par

Stain Train! Thanks for the info! I had not had that issue myself, but most of my aggressive shooting has been with a 590, and the setup might be torqued differently. I want everyone to know that if one of there polymer pieces breaks, I will send you a new sling for free. I would appreciate it if you returned the broken sling to me, and if you could pay for shipping, but reguardless, if that is not feasible, or you are angry at the product or myself, I will ship it out free of charge and cover shipping. I don't make a lot of money, but it is important for me to get this right, and I want to make slings that people can trust their lives with. that being said, I wont be selling any more slings with plastic components. Right now I can not find any black metal hardware that is 1.5" in diameter, but that just means I have to look harder, and maybe find a new supplier. If anyone feels uncomfortable with their sling, they can return it once I am making slings with metal hardware, and I will replace it with one with metal hardware for free. Also, whatever slings I have left with plastic hardware I will simply sell at a discount with a warning. I appreciate the imput, and I would love to get more. So please let me know anything and everything you can. Thanks!

Thanks! It is always good to have multiple sources to compare. :-)

The gen ii recon isn't all that light. In fact, it feels heavier than the numbers would make it seem. I would like to handle a gen ii moe and see how different the weight is (I think its about a one lbs difference) I hope that soon I will have a new rail on the gii, so I can compare the weight difference.
-
I think eventually I will offer both in multiple colors. It will just take some time. And yeah, my plan is spend invest every penny I make on supplies for awhile :-)
-
Ill have to figure out a way to make searching for my page work better... Thanks for the heads up!
-
What I do to make the wide nylon webbing work in a smaller sling is fold the webbing in slightly, and work it through... It works more intuitively that it sounds... Ill post a picture of the webbing put through the tiny loop of a magpull asap plate. I am thinking I should offer both 1.5" and 1", but for awhile it is just going to be hard to stock everything. I am already looking to put in another $500 order. But the longer I can afford to spend every cent I make from the business, on the business, the faster things will go :-)

Hey everyone, I thought I would let you know that I am slowly moving forward with this business venture every day. I have finally made a Facebook page, Facebook.com/beachintactical. I would appreciate it if you could like and share the page with anyone that might be interested. I also plan on doing some giveaways once I reach a certain number of likes etc. I cant thank yall enough. I am about to put in an order for new colors of paracord and buckles. If anyone wants something specific, let me know! I am also considering dropping to one inch webbing and buckles. I believe this would make the hardware stronger, I can get metal attachment points between the 550 and webbing (instead of the plastic 1.5"-1" reducer loops), and it would work more easily with a wider variety of sling swivels. (Walmart only sells one inch swivels) As always opinions and ideas are very welcome. I look forward to continued business with everyone, I appreciate the business I have had immensely, and I hope my product fulfills your needs and desires!

Haha, it can be a pita sometimes huh! Let me know if its a large issue. If you need longer webbing ill exchange it for you :-)
