DPMS GII Recon review
beachmaster replied to beachmaster's topic in DPMS Panther Arms LR-308 | Bushmaster 308
Yeah... The Loctite situation is a bummer... swapping handguards and muzzle breaks should be a straightforward thing that you can do in your garage with minimal tools... but DPMS seems to disagree. That is the only downside I see to this rifle so far. Every other experience with it has been positive. -
DPMS GII Recon review

If you find a good deal, I do think that it is worth it to dump the quad rail. What you get once dropping the quad rail is a light weight ar that is worth more than the sum of its parts. Because if you can find a good deal on one, you can get it and the new rail for as much as a comparatively set up rifle from the factory, but the gii will be lighter. (And better ;-)) -
The Ruger Sr762 is the rifle that originally got me into the Ar 308 arena! It is a beautifully made firearm, with all of the feature that I feel a modern firearm should have. In fact, my dpms has been made to look very similar to the sr762 :-)

Who wants to go shooting in Tucson after Christmas?
beachmaster replied to beachmaster's topic in General Discussion
The 28th guys, if that works for everyone. If someone objects, and needs the 26th or 27th, ok, but for as of right now, I am planning for the 28th. :-) I am more excited about the possibility of getting things on Christmas to bring to the range than i I am for the Christmas festivities. Lol -
Haha *vomit But really... this is ridiculous... making a movie about the presidents love story (*vomit) while he is in office... its so cheap. Like he is some celebrity... I am sure the movie will be as historically inaccurate and filled with lies as his presidency has been. They probably wont even show the tranny bar they met in hahaha

I am really looking forward to this movie, because I am curious as to whether or not it shows Michelle Obama's weenie...

Aw bummer! -
The Cr500 is a thing of beauty. The ATC 250R is a fantastic death machine, I would LOVE one. The 200x is much more... lame LOL BUT, if you disrespect it, you could still end up very dead. lol I grew up on dirtbikes, but I was always drawn to our little three wheeler. There is just something attractive about them to me. They are simple, light weight, and fun. But they do take better form, and they are not so forgiving as a quad (although a quad can give out more unexpectedly, and since they weight more, can be equally dangerous, if not more) The thing is that every time I crashed a three wheeler, I knew it was coming, and I knew it was my fault. One time on a quad, I was doing donuts just fine until one second... BAMB! I was launched like a projectile from a trebuchet into the stratosphere lol. If three wheelers were still made affordably (the import ban only lasted ten years, but the bogus media destroyed their reputation permanently), I would get a new one. Alas... it will never happen. As for dirtbikes, my daily ride is a Suzuki Dr650 on super moto wheels with some farkling, and I would LOVE to have a street legal Cr500 supermoto... Just in case I feel like my life expectancy is getting a little too long ;-)

Barren river lake is nice, and it is closer to Nashville than lake Cumberland. Thats where my range is. There is also lake barkly, which is land between the lakes. They have a free open range. No rules, no range officers, no fee. Just benches, a roof, and often a bunch of trash... but it does get picked up. Its sad that a nice free range gets abused. But the people who go there to clean up brass, and the responsible shooters do clean it up. It also has an offroad and camping park, and alot of boat ramps. :-) When I was stationed at ft Campbell, and everyone else was going to Nashville to waste their time, money, and life, I was up at lbl :-) -
Haha I dream of a 250r, or a 350x, but alas, I am poor, so the old faithful 200x will be more than adequate. :-) maybe ill get my wife a 110. If i could afford it, I would throw a cr500 engine into a 250r or 350c. THEN you would have something to fear ;-)

My wife on my atc. I keep it old school. :-)

Done! :-)

I have been told that I have no sense of style... but that didn't stop me from designing my own shirts! Shirts come in two different designs. "If at first you dont succeed, reload and try again", and "in case of fire, stop, drop, and reload" Colors include od green, brown, black, and pink. (Pink is very limited) Sizes go from small to xl, with a limited supply of xxl. Message for availability. $15 per shirt, or $10 with any other order Please excuse the oddly sized pictures... all pictures were taken with the same camera, are unedited, and were uploaded using the same program... things just aren't working for me today...

308 Ar Appreciation Giveaway Recomendations
beachmaster replied to beachmaster's topic in Beachin Tactical
That is a good idea for the first competition 98. I should keep the competition simple, and just ask for a hunting trip, sling, and pictures, and whoever has the best story wins. :-) I can get more advanced some other time. Ill get a special sling made once I am caught up, and make an official thread. -

Marine Corps Bayonets $85-100 + s&h
beachmaster replied to beachmaster's topic in FOR SALE: Used Knives and Bayonets
That looks like an m8a1 sheath, but it might be the m6 bayonet (for the garand I believe), as the guard and grips look different. -

beachmaster replied to beachmaster's topic in FOR SALE: Used Knives and Bayonets
I believe you can purchase clamp on bayonet lugs for about anything, but getting the ring to fit over something might be more tricky. My wife doesn't like it when I leave my trench gun in the corner with a bayonet without a sheath... I personally dont understand. Lol I am glad that you are pleased with your bayonet! I am confident that the US has never issued a better bayonet... unless you could the super rare M7 bayonet that had like a 20" blade... but those goes for nearly a thousand bucks now because they are so rare. Very drool worthy. -

Hey guys, after a family visit, I plan on doing as much shooting in Tucson as possible, and I was wondering if anyone wanted to tag along or host us at your range. My dad is down a 308 battle rifle, so all he has left is a Socom 16, and I am trying to talk him into a 308 ar, so a big 308 ar shootapalooza would be cool. Heck, it doesn't have to be a 308 ar shootapalooza... any kind of shootapalooza with the good folks on this forum would be a great time! And I know I have some of my slings floating around the area... it would be cool to get a group picture, and a picture of a few rifles with my slings on them!
