  1. oh wow, that would be cool! Well, yall should come to Ky! I am pretty sure I could reserve a date at my range for next to nothing! lol Maybe $100... :-D My dad is pcsing to Tucson Az, maybe if yall have a shootapaluza while I am down I could attend, that would be awesome!
  2. wow... My family has always been leupold bias, and that is mostly what I plan on sticking with outside of rimfire scopes, but I was considering us optics. This is really surprising to me!
  3. I carry a govt 1911 every day... but I have to admit, I am a little jealous of your assortment of 1911s! I am interested in a 3" myself. And one for my wife... Shoot, I aught to just start collecting I guess! But that all has to wait for me to finish the current one!
  4. man... you guys pay big bucks... my range is $24 a year, to include river front fishing, docks, improved camping, and a lodge that can be rented for $80... Sadly, it only has a 50 and 100 yard range, but you get what you pay for. And the trap shooting twice a week and rimfire competitions once a month are tons of fun!
  5. I feel that whenever anyone conceals, this should be something that they consider. We all, in my opinion, have the responsibility and duty to carry, and if you carry, you have the responsibility to carry... responsibly. When choosing a firearm, someone said pack as much gun as you can afford (not financially, but as much as you can conceal), and that you need to tailor your lifestyle to carrying, not tailor your gun to your lifestyle. So can I wear swim trunks on the random steamy kentucky day (every summer day :/)? No, not really. But that is ok, especially if makes the different of life and limb for me or my wife. The wife doesn't get it, but it is my responsibility over us, not hers. And it is also my responsiblity to get her head in the right place. So, carry the right firearm for the right situation, not wardrobe, and carry responsibly. Do not become complacent. Look for your next point of cover. If there is none, concealment. High speed avenues of approach and retreat. And keep your shooting hand ready. Its just like keeping loaded guns around your children. It is your responsibility, you make sure it works out right. You have taken responsibility for your own well being because you aren't a brainless zombie that wants the Govt to do it for you, and carrying responsibly means more than just having the gun with you.
  6. I found that little xds to be very cool, and I tried finding it on their website, but it wasn't listed. All I could find is that they were recalled because they could go full auto lol Did they stop making them? The only three inch models I can find on their website come in 9mm and 40s&w
  7. Man that thing is tiny! I wonder what other super compact 45s are available... I was looking at hyper compact 1911s like the detonics combat master, but that is another good option! I would like to see a size comparo to the tiny ria 1911
  8. If you have a qd swivel you would simply run the nylon webbing through the swivel, then use the double bar piece to hold it on. Similar retaining system to most any webbing. Ill get a close up picture tomorrow.
  9. It is! Your sling should arrive tomorrow or the next day :-)
  10. I keep the old mossberg tube loaded to partial capacity (5 rnds), because I may want to go out in my yard and shoot one of the birds that likes to poop on my vehicles... :-/ I always specifically go over the status of the shotgun with my wife, and what she needs to do to use it. I havne't gotten her to train as much as I would like though. But typically there is no round in the tube, safety is off, and hammer is dropped so you don't have any slide release button to worry about :-D (mostly, again, for the wife. Keep it simple stupid)
  11. I like open carry in the summer as apposed to concealed sometimes, and when I want to go hunting on my motorcycle, the longgun goes on my back. Maybe if more people got their feathers ruffled, they would become educated. Worst case scenario, which would never happen, but if our rights, as well as open carry, did turn america into the wildwest like the libs are afraid it would, we would have some population and stupid control. These people couldn't continue to breed... and maybe, just maybe, it would bring the average iq up a few points :-)
  12. Congrats! When you say billet uppers and lowers, do you mean 308, or 556? lol I have long dreamed of becoming an ffl and opening a little shop :-)
  13. If you are strapped for cash and get the mossberg 22 ar for a trainer, it will serve its purpose to a certain extent, and I understand. But I have a little bit of experience with them, and I would advice you closely research this, and other options. The mossberg ar is the mossberg plinkster crammed into an airsoft gun style frame, that happens to look somewhat like an ar. The charging handle is fake, and doesn't move, and none of the controls are in the same place as a real ar. Not only that, all of the controles in my opinion are awkward, and chinsy. I might be the poorest guy on this forum, but I would suggest if you want a budget shooter, to look elsewhere. Your experience may vary. I really wish mossberg had offered this rifle (the MVP 308) with a midlength gas tube... I feel that alone would have made it much more appealing. I do like the lines of their receiver, and I really appreciate their cool camo pattern offering. (at least I think its cool lol) I hate the grip... but hey, I change every grip I get anyways.
  14. Alright, I am getting all the slings shipped out, or in edgecrushers case, completed today! It has been incredible doing business with all of you guys! Shibiwan, that would be amazing! Depending on how many you want, I could figure out distributer pricing, and we could find out if you want anything specific. Let me know!
  15. The rifle does slap me around a little bit if I dont respect it. I shot 56 rnds from a bench, and i do have some bruising. But it was never brutal. Shooting slugs from a rest is a bit brutal after awhile... but so rewarding to see such large holes at 100 yards... :-D I had a piecemeal Ar308 before this one, and i would say its recoil was a tad softer, but without doing a side by side comparison, I cant honestly say. Ill take the light weight. It isn't too light yet... the rail weighs a ton, but once I get an m.I. on it, it will be a light set up :-) And i wont be getting any aftermarket buffers for awhile... I am too poor, and i have to focus on reloading! But if anyone wants to send me one to get a review of it through the GII, I can test it and return it. Or test it and keep it ;-)
  16. I could make a design similar to that bds from 550... thats a cool idea! And I could streamline what I offer, as I could make all that type of sling, instead of separate one and two points.
  17. I like the Bond arms ranger 2, and the defender in 45acp. Someday... someday. :-) Also on the radar is an American derringer in 45/70... but they are just too spendy
  18. I think the larger issue at hand is the fact that it malfunctions to fire two barrels instead of one, causing damage. I would consider owning one if that were the case. But since it can randomly decide to dump both barrels and obliterate my hand, I am more interested in a derringer of the Bond arms flavor. :-)
  19. I thought it was interesting to read how much he said the 9mm hurt, and to have standard pressure factory loads bulge primers should be a sign for the manufacture... So 9mm sucks, according to the gun shop owner, 45acp really sucks, and i can tell you, both barrels of +p 45 is brutal lol I believe the design is flawed. I feel sorry for the person who purchases the pistol I shot. After I shot the pistol, the shop owner cleaned the blood off of it, and put it right back under the counter LOL
  20. Its more than I could have asked for! Its definitely time to step up my weaving and sewing!
  21. Its a derringer with completely square metal edges and no grip panels. I think its like a half an inch thick...
  22. I will get some black 550 in once I sell a few more slings. After I buy a sewing machine, some differently colored spools of 550, and different colors of webbing will be the first thing on my list. :-) I wish I could have started off with more colors, but the start up cost of buying all this stuff in bulk was stupid! I guess thats why most people just weave a sling and set the attachment point at the bottom lol
  23. The gun is a derringer, and it isn't mine. I dont know if there are upgraded springs available for it, but I would hope if there were, double tap would make them standard.
  24. Hey guys, I am getting started making slings. I hated the three points I was issued throughout my time in the military, I love 550 cord, and i dont like other peoples 550 cord designs. So I decided to do it my way, which like usual, is the difficult, expensive, time consuming, and logistically challenging way. Here you go, there are two 10" sections of 550 cord per two point sling, which makes for more than 48' of 550 cord. The one point sling uses more like 70' of 550 cord. All designs use berry compliant materials, made in the USA. The nylon webbing is 1.5" in diameter. The slings dont come with a swivel, due to the varied nature of sling attachment today. The sling ends in nylon strap, with a double bar metal retainer, so you attach the nylon webbing to your mounting point just like you would a backpack strap. My product tag says "beachin tactical, Romans 1, no excuses, no exceptions" Its a very relevant scripture, written to the Roman church by Paul. The church faced many of the difficulties that we see today. I am still getting started with all this, so if your interested, shoot me a pm. Ill post them in the for sale section when I get some more made, and I am a little more set up. I am trying to get $40 for a two point, or $35 for forum members or military, plus shipping ($5) One point is more involved, so it will be +$5 I wish I could go cheaper, but the start up costs are high, im saving for my own sewing machine, they take forever to make, and they are awesome :-) I only have these colors for now, but any advice or input will be warmly received. Thanks for looking!
