Also, dpms confirmed with me on facebook that all of their offerings for the lr308 would eventually be included in the gii. I asked about the 3g1 specifically :-)

ill get some pics off my phone, and Ill get LOTS in a new thread tonight. Under the dpms section of the forum, should I post under the lr308, or is a Gen3 section possible?

Also, the lower says multi for caliber, so maybe I could get a 22 upper for it? I doubt it is a mill spec lower...

I got the gii, but didn't get home till almost one from picking it up. Some quick observations I have never seen a firearm ship so dry. Sahara desert dry The trigger has a little grit, but is actually quite nice. Honestly, I think replacing it would be a waste of cash Everything is more natural for an army guy... and yet everything is bizzarre at the same time. Every detail about the gun is tweaked The Moe grip reminds me of how good the Moe+ grip is Due to my last experience, I checked out my buffer tube. What do you know, there is a big old gouge in it. Ill let you know if it affects function, but its a bit irritating. The upper and lower are relatively tight, but there are sharp edges around the corners of the lower, where your fingers go when charging the firearm. Mine came with an oddly and incredibly strong spring for the charging handle latch, so I almost have to grit my teeth to disengage the latch and charge the weapon. When I do this, I ram my fingers across this sharp edge on the lower. It is very uncomfortable. My sn is just over a thousand, and I though fit and finish would be a tad better. But ill put some rounds through it and let yall know what I think! Ill start a new thread today with detailed pictures, right before everything gets an oil bath. :-)

Well ill keep my eye out for her. That sure isn't what we need.

Idaho sounds good to me! The way Kentucky is going ill probably end up staying for the rest of my life. I think the very name scares libs:-)

well blue, I guess that is the only answer... lol

I had heard that the gii used a standard ar15 buffer and spring, so to see if this was true, or if it used a standard ar308 buffer and spring, or something proprietary, I emailed dpms. Just so everyone knows, acording to dpms, it uses a standard ar308 spring and buffer. I might be picking the rifle up tomorrow. If not, sometime this week. Ill let yall know, and post a pre range bit of info and pics, and Ill try to hurry and get some rounds downrange and let yall know how that goes as well. :-)

well lets get all the jobs out of those piss poor states, let them think about what they have done, and as long as we keep our self defense laws in our states, and as long as we limit laws protecting criminals, hopefully they will be dissuaded from moving here :-)

The news coming out of Illinois, California, New York, and a few other places is daunting. I get sick to my stomach just thinking about it. I spent 4 years in the military, and being raised in a military family, Ill tell you, I have lived a little bit of everywhere, including Europe. These liberals get their power and money from YOU. From your taxes, and your work. And from your belief that your family roots are too deep, or your job is too secure... Please, if you live in one of these commie comunes, move. I live in Kentucky now. I was born in California, I was raised in Washington, lived in texas, and most recently, Germany. Moving is hard... Really hard. You loose support, and a job, and who knows what else. There is alot of uncertainty. But if you move, not only do you win, but they loose. Maybe search for a job beforehand, I don't know. But we have to get good people out of these bad places. Allow them to destroy themselves without being destroyed yourself. I feel for you guys. In case you are wondering, Kentucky is great. Great gun laws, and great self defense laws. I guess seeing all the bad news just stresses me out. I wish I could help everyone out.

Hi, I was wondering if the ace stock with its rifle buffer has any weight savings over a standard carbine stock. (Obviously with lighter carbine buffer system) I guess one would think this question would be simple, and although just looking at the weight of a standard issue buttstock or magpul Moe, and comparing it to the ace is easy, I thought the rifle buffer tube would probably be lighter since it is simpler. Then there is the (overall small) weight difference in buffers... So, is there anyone with personal experience who could tell me if there is any negligible difference in weight? Thanks!

308 Charging Handle
beachmaster replied to justinlee83's topic in DPMS Panther Arms LR-308 | Bushmaster 308
Hey, I wanted to add for anyone else looking at this topic that you can get a "tactical" charging handle latchin many flavors if your short on cash. I used a badger ordnance ttactical latch, and it made the standard charging handle alot easier to use around my buis, it was $18 from brownells, and I installed it in under 2 minutes. I was very happy with it. So if anyone is looking for functionality for a bit cheaper, and maybe can forgo a little bling, simply upgrading the latch on the charging handle could be a viable option. -

Ill tell you now that my bro barrel was 3.9lbs, and it was very front heavy. I believe Robocop posted a Fulton armory barrel, ill look for the link. He said he recommends it to everyone. Its a 16" rifle length barrel that weights like 2.1lbs. Ill see if I can find it.

im New, and i already need alot of help...
beachmaster replied to beachmaster's topic in Introductions
Thanks for the info! I got the dpms gii recon ordered, and I hope its a shooter! But I am expecting to have to do a little work here and there, or send it back once or twice, being that it is a new product. If that doesn't happen, I can only be pleasantly surprised. And what I learned when playing with the last problem rifle was priceless. I sold it to a dude confident that Ifixed the rifles issues, and he is a guy I will be in continued contact with, so if stuff goes wrong ill be there to help him. It seems I learn the most about anything (guns or cars) when something breaks. Thats life. Maybe when I am more financially stable I will be able to afford a Tm %80 lower. Then I will learn a whole lot :-) -
Do you already have a barrel? Robocop should come on here and post a suggestion! I had the bro 18" mid length spiral fluted barrel, and it looked good and shot well, but it was very heavy. I am excited to see you build, and welcome to the forum!

beachmaster replied to Lon Moer's topic in Firearm Industry News and Gossip

-
Man... they need to do an Ar308 version, I want one!

The normal recon or the new gii? Post in the introductions and tell us a bit about yourself and what you would like to get in a rifle. There are lots of people here to help you make the right decision.
