Looks kinda like one of my 4 bandAids and a wad of paper towel, and a bungy cord tourniquet job get-it-done-now! honey doos projects. If you live as long as I have you will get used to seeing blood flow and skin torn off a lot. I was a Boy Scout back 70 years ago, passed my First Aid merit badge, and learned to yell CORPSMAN ! in the USMC. Wish I had the services of a good Corpsman, around here, but the only one I know was a Xray picture taker guy, He is Absolutely useless for flowing blood or torn off skin. My wife is almost as good as I am if I can't reach the point of injury.

What do you have on order or in the mail? Part 2
mrmackc replied to imschur's topic in General Discussion
185 grain bullets don't shoot well in either my LR 308 or M1A NM at all, they hammer the gas systems, shoot well in a Remington 700 Bolt action. 147 Gr in the LR .308 are okay, haven't shot any 175Gr. in the LR308, yet, and 168Gr. &175Gr Okay in the M1A, just my results . -

I've seen that, a time or two, just didn't want to be a party pooper!

Some times the second post on a thread is off topic.

Welcome, what do you have in line with the name of this site"308ar.com"? Wanna do a build, already done some builds, have a factory LR308AR, or AR15, Armalite AR10? etc.,etc.... Don't have any yet, just wanna jaw with others that know 308ARs? Want some expert advice about some AR platform? Ar308 or AR-15 308 on a functioning problem? Just do some jawing? BTW , I do almost all of the above We get a lot of trolls here. Are you one? Don't take me too seriously I'm probably 20 years older than you.

I only have stuff with Lithium Batteries, I have six batteries for the weed whakker, and blowers, tree saw and I will send all of them to Washington D.C. for disposal when they quit working even the ones that catch fire. Won't it be a hoot when every thing from your Electric drill to your Ford 150 runs on Lithium Batteries? We all need to get a propane/natural gas fueled 25KW backup generator and a couple of 500 gallon propane tanks and keep them full to charge up all of our electric cars and phones and run our heat pumps freezers, and ice makers and telephones! LEDs everywhere!

Several that I know of have been in Law Enforcement issued Ar 15 and M16, no data on LR308 but it is something to be aware of, Cam pins have been known to crack or distort in some inspected rifles. I under stand many SWAT teams do a lot of practice with the 5.56 issue rifles. I am friends of a former Texas Sheriff 's Dept. Armorer..

I know this is an old thread, but I have been looking at gas tubes from several vendors and KAK in particular They show Rifle tubes Carbine tubes but they don't give the length. One vendor showed a gas tube for AR15, and LR308 to be 15.?? inches what is the correct length for a factory barrel DPMS LR308 with a 16"barrel? Is there a gas tube chart and compatible buffer parts on this site? I couldn't find it but thought sometime in the past I saw one. Thanks As Gloria Radner would have said..."Oh,Well ...Never Mind"... I found Unforgivens post of: DPMS LR 308 Gas Tube & /AR 15/16M4 Pistol 6-5/8 Carbine 9-3/4 Mid-Length 11-3/4 Rifle 15-1/4

Most of the Federal anti/gun laws are legal because of the Federals enforcing the "Interstate Commerce clause" Which has gotten quite out landish and out of hand, IMHO. I wonder if the Texas folks are using this "rejection of Federal gun laws" to lure all of the ATF and FBI cops away from the gun shows out into the wilds where the Red Neck gunslingers, summer heat, stickers, bugs, snakes, alligators, cacti, and mesquite thorns will make them want to go back to Biden/Harris/Schumer land and their Blue State homes? Who ever knows what these devious, evil Texians will think of next?

Sounds great to Me. I don't think I have ever seen a Federal Law official (ATF, FBI) any where I have been shooting, in Texas, even at commercial ranges . Have you? Most of the Federal laws are legal because of the Federals enforcing the "Interstate Commerce clause" of the Federal Government. Which has gotten quite out landish and out of hand, IMHO. I wonder if the Texas folks are using this "rejection of Federal gun laws" to lure all of the ATF cops away from the gun shows out into the wilds? I bet some enterprising person/persons are making plans to go into the MADE IN TEXAS gunshot noise reduction devices already. Anyone want to partner up for a go at being ones of the first? It could be called TexGSNRD INC. or LLD. Their motto could be " What happens in TEXAS ,stays in Texas!" Don't you think a Grizzly G9729 - 31" 3/4 HP Combo Lathe/Mill would be a good start? I am not a machinist but many here are. Any of you members have to buy Solvent filters and traps to catch all of that dangerous Hoppes #9 that runs down offen and out of your Rifle barrels. What do you do with all of that liquid poison that the filter catches, maybe re-cycle it to use to fuel your lawn mower or snow blower ? I am asking for a friend that has a bunch in an old 5 gallon plastic gas can.

No, Stonebuster cam pin not a design flaw in most cases problems with the cam pin and it's function is an operator error! You wonder if RRA emphasizes this warning. RRA 's manual has the warning about the cam pin printer in RED for a reason, don't you think? Darwin, sometimes catches a nap on the job!
-
I was hoping that CAUTION! would get you to download the manual, curiosity may have killed the cat, but it may have saved a shooter. By the way the BCG goes together easily without that cam pin. ask me how I know. Any time the rifle is fired with a normal round and the campin is nor in the rifle It will be a mackeral (next thing to a miracle) if it don't explode.
-
CAUTION! DO NOT FIRE THE RIFLE IF THE CAM PIN IS MISSING OR DAMAGED!.......THE RIFLE WILL EXPLODE!!!!!
-
Thanks for the help Doc. And That is a great download for anLAR-8 manual from RR Arms.
-
Well so much for that.......guess maybe next year I'll bee old enough, reckon?

Many of us use Mobil One 10W40 synthetic motor oil. Soak the BCG bolt and the inside of the upper where the BCG runs and get it almost dripping wet, be sure to not oil the chamber. This works pretty well to break in the rifle, Many of us considered 100 rounds about right for break in, back when ammo was cheaper, maybe 20 or 25 rounds will be a good start. 147 grain 7.62 x 51. If you don't get a manual for the rifle there is a DPMS manual online that can be downloaded, there is a thread some where here about downloading a manual.
