Hey guys, I'm still rooting for the Dallas---Arlington---Valley Ranch--- Frisco--- Cowboys! (America's Team) ...well in the NFL Draft, anyways since that is their next big thang. They will get first pick in the first round, but if things go as usual they will probably fauck up that one too. (probably already traded it off for a billy goat) Yep, there is always NEXT YEAR
  2. ....and the propeller is mounted on the tail and blows air sideways.....and it costs as much for an overhaul as a 4 bedroom three bath brick house

Thanks, I just found this on the internet"
  5. Cheap is right, I have everything on hand.... only expense to me is the energy to heat the babbit, or my time to mix the sack-crete, which is left over from another DIY project. I am also going to do a 1911 magazine mag well vise, but will weld the old colt clone mag onto a 4" piece of 1" square tubing, also left over from a DIY project. probably will do one of each .308 and .45 Auto each with babbit and also Sack-Crete. I am also going to do a 1911 magazine mag well vise, but will weld the old colt clone mag onto a 4" piece of 1" square tubing, also left over from a DIY project. What really will be the good part is I made something myself and it works, Like God said on the Seventh day: " I made it all by myself, and it is good!"

I'm kind of ignorant about cuts of cow meat, Question: Is Tri-Tip the end cut of the brisket? Looks like a cut I really would want to smoke for just the three of us, me , wife and Sunshine the wide body Chihuahua. for several meals.
  7. Hey ! what is wrong with that pitchur?
  8. Jfridley, I have been keeping up with this discussion about building a .308 AR, LR rifle and have noticed you are concerned with : " I'm not so much worried about recoil as I am being accurate." However there is one very important part of the rifle concerning accuracy, that is a good quality TRIGGER.
  9. Which one fits a DPMS LR308? DUUHH is me, Okay I see it now! Thanks,
  10. The Metal-epoxy is a no no that stuff is expensive!
  11. Well for me the metal based epoxy is a NO, the materil would cost more than a factory built vise block.
  12. I also thought about using either plaster of paris or quick Crete, even epoxy mixed with metal (like bulk J-B Weld) is probably a good idea. Dropping inside some small bolts & nuts or nails for reinforcement, that way you could use old Pmags without worrying about the plastic melting.
  13. Is it called outside the tittie line holster?

    GOOD ONE!....I like it!
  15. Anyone decided that they can make a vice holding block for your LR308 lower or assembled rifle? I thought about using an old metal 20 or 25 round magazine by pouring it full of old melted babbit wheel weights or recovered lead shot after removing the innards, and maybe grinding off the feed lips. What do you think ? I'm going to try it if I can find my supply of surplus wheel weights that I once used to make .45 Semi wad cutters out of, maybe drop in several old steel bolts, nuts or 1/4" chain links before pouring in the hot molten babbit or lead.

Well us football fans have us the horses and the jungle cats that will get it on in a couple of weeks, don't know of much shooting, hunting,or fishing competing for my valuable time on that Sunday evening. Then we can get bored to death until MLB opening day. I never watch bb or hockey, will be a good time to use some good days spitting and whittling and GOING TO THE RANGE! I almost forgot smoking some dead cow and hog meat.
  17. AngelDeVille, I would like to have about 3 of those magazine pouches, the 1956m, what would you need to get for 3 pouches and to mail or UPS them to Zip 76442? I will pay in advance. (The m1956)
  18. I use Nickle Steel welding rod and OXY/ ACC Henrod 2000 torch to build up the bolt catch, you can grind it down or hammer forge it hot. I got the Nickle Steel welding rod years ago from Brownells It is about $50 for a pound of .095 rod, to alter bolt handles for mounting scopes on Springfield 03 and 03A3 rifles. It is good stuff, it will take blueing, and polishes up nicely. I have used it to build up worn stamped inner parts of LEO Winchester and Mosberg 12 ga. shotguns.
  19. Got mine off of Facebook.
  20. Try this one from Yankee Hill it will mate with the DPMS gas block on a Oracle and match up and zero with the Yankee Hill Rear sight.. Product #: 454763 Yankee Hill #: YHM-9584 UPC #: 816701013474 Midway has them listed Out of Stock, I found one on eBay, search for Yankee Hill YHM-9584 (You may want to mount it backwards on the gas block so it will fold down flat) unless you take it off to use the glass sight) Don't take my word for it make some measurments to be sure
  21. Give Thanks for These kinds of Americans...., PLEASE.. Arlington Tomb of the UnKnown Soldier
