  1. In my opinion I think that you do have the scope mounted a bit too low and probably a bit too far ro rhe back of the rifle. I thought the higher Burris mounts suggested by the local gunstore owner that specializes in "Black rifles" was off a bit when he suggested a high mount for my Bushnell 1X4 BDC scope. But after I mounted it with the eye relief correct for the LR308 DPMS rifle with the original 6 position butt stock it works fine even with the center line of the scope 2.8" above the bore of the rifle. I tried to mount my 50 year old Weaver K1.5 with the original weaver mounts on my older Remington 700 .3006 and it was about 1.5" lower than the Burris mounts, it was a disaster, bruised cheek and jaw shooting from the bench. The tall mounts look awkward until the rifle is shouldered and eye ball is looking through the lenses.

  3. hey sir I am not someone that likes changing just for the sake of change. Wasn't me that started this topic about, well you were the one asking about preferences, don't preferences have something to do about which system we prefer?
  4. Why should we have to prefer one system over the other? Yeah why? I'll take either depending on the rifle, but I won't change over just because it is a change, if you want to do a change ,there are probably over 50,000,000 babies with Shittie diapers that need changed so if you just like change go find a stinky bottomed baby and do a change.
  5. With your apparent lack of automotive knowledge you need your buddy to haul the 93 Honda to the nearest Honda car dealers shop and while they are preparing an repair estimate check out the new and used car prices and then compare repair costs and go from there.
  6. AMEN, I have a friend I worked with that never took the time to practice marksmanship, that thought if he bought the same rifle or pistol or shot the same handload I shot with that he would shoot as well as I did, I studied marksmanship, trained in the USMC and had been shooting and practiceing for years. I did trade several of my older pistols and a rifle to him for better stuff, he never figured out why he couldn't shoot well. I suppose he is still trading, hopeing to find his ultimate gun.
  7. Maybe I should have said something rather than someone........
  8. Well now you have a LR308 of dubious DPMS Panther Arms heritage at a decent price. Well so do I. So how does it shoot? That is what you got it for and because it didn't cost as much as a 10 year old kid's pony right? I figure we did okay if yours shoots as well as mine does with a 200 dollar scope and a $125 trigger.I don't have a lot of bitches, it will reach way out there and touch someone a bunch of times in a few seconds, and that is a fact.
  9. Yep Eye Doc said a funny, again!
  10. The 308 Oracle was designed for glass sights only. but there is a front sight that will be tall enough to match the standard height front metal backup sights. I found one and a matching rear from either Midway or Brownells. No it was on eBay. Yankee Hill YHM-9584 But I had already said that . As Gloria Radner would say.........."well,..........never mind."
  11. This really isn't a joke for "Joke of the day" but it is more likely what I would call "The logical man's saying of the day" I mowed the lawn today, and after doing so I sat down and had a cold beer. The day was really quite beautiful, and the drink facilitated some deep thinking. My wife walked by and asked me what I was doing, and I said 'nothing'. The reason I said 'nothing' instead of saying 'just thinking' is because she then would have asked 'about what?' At that point I would have had to explain that men are deep thinkers about various topics, which would lead to other questions. Finally I pondered an age old question: Is giving birth more painful than getting kicked in the nuts? Women always maintain that giving birth is way more painful than a guy getting kicked in the nuts, but how could they "know"? Well, after another beer, and some more heavy deductive thinking, I have come up with an answer to that question. Getting kicked in the nuts is more painful than having a baby, and even though I obviously couldn't really "know", here is the reason for my conclusion. A year or so after giving birth, a woman will often say, "It might be nice to have another child." On the other hand, you never hear a guy say, "You know, I think I would like another kick in the nuts." I rest my case. Time for another beer, and then maybe a nap in that hammock.
  12. And I used a 7.5" skill saw to cut slots in the botton 10 ' of the 4" PVC casing just plunge saw 10 or 15 3" slots up and down the PVC on three sides to let the well water inside the casing.
  13. I uses a roll of 2" or 1 1'2 inch black PVC for tubing to 60' with a 1/2 HP submersible, I got at Lowes. You will need a kit to waterproof the connection of the 3 wire cord to the pump motor, and will need a 220 well pump controller. I used 10 Ga. romex in PVC conduit to go from the meter breaker box to the well controller and pressure relayand used nylon ties to tie the pump power cord to the PVC, also tied a 1/2 inch nylon rope to the pump housing for a safety rope incase the pump come loose from the PVC so that I could pull the pump without pulling the electric cord off. I would lay a 4X4 wooden post across the top of the well to fasten the casing to to keep it hanging straight. Here is a link on how to wire up the 220V well pump controller: http://www.insidespaces.org/howtopages/wiring-waterpump/wiring-waterpump.shtml
  14. You need a downhole submersible pump You could run a 4" PVC well casing down to sit on bottom with the bottom 10 ' perforated. inside the 4" run a 2" well tubing with a 220V deep well submersible (0 to 200'[) and use PVC to pump uphill connected to the 2" tubing, 1" PVC would work to run up hill. A water well driller could do a turnkey job on the pump, casing and tubing with a 220V AC source at the well, you could add the 1" PVC and any valves needed.

  16. Thanks for the info on the range we are going to Lubbock on the 18th grandson's high school engineering robotics team is participating in a competition event on Saturday February 20th at Frenship High and invited us to attend. We haven't attended one of his competitions so we are going to this one their teams are hosting.
  17. ThunderD is your range public? I am a TT alumni and my daughter lives in Lubbock the kids go to Frenship schools.

    Football

Old Wade Phillips finally went viral!
  22. ....Also it depends on how you post the image on the forum from your computer, tablet or mobile phone. I think if you have a fullsize drawing it could be scanned and emailed as an attachment file.
  23. You really can't increase the resolution of the pictures of a posted image, you can increase the size with a photo editing app but the pixels will just be enlarged and the resolution will suffer. Maybe you can write the information down and do a Gogle search and find the original web site and get an original downloaded to your desktop and then do some editing.
  24. I'm still here!
