  1. ordered a set of Burris rings manf part # 420183 for my Bushnell 308 BDC 4.5X18 scope. Ordered them from Midway because their site display is more detailed than Amazon, same price, same free shipping as Amazon.
  2. ordered another Bushnell AR .308 BDC 4X18 scope, should be here Monday, when we get back from Lubbock and grandson's Robotics competition. I will use the little 1.5 x 4 power on the Mini 14 for those pesky ferel bacon makers. A farmer told me that a .223 is too small, but the hogs don't seem to know that. The new Mech Armour 3# trigger feels so good on the DPMS Oracle, I will check out the 500 yard line.
  3. Ford Tough with Chevy Stuff (350-350)
  4. Mrmackc's Hacksaw Tribe definition of "plinking": Shooting up ammo to hear noise and feel the thunder!
  5. YeAh TFU ! ----------what ever that means! BRAVO!
  6. I decided I could gripe and whine or try to adapt , experiment and see what works. Things are different but it seems to be coming around.
  7. Haven't had login problems since I deleted my old bookmark for this site and bookmarked it after I logged in after the site update. It probably is your browser.
  8. As a teenager back in the 1950s we cut shotgun shells just behind the shot wad with a sharp pocket knife on PAPER bird shot hulls and shot like slugs. usually with a single shot, you gotta be careful, sometimes it will keave some of the hull in the bore and the next shot is deadly...to the shooter!
  9. And on bad range days, like when you can't go because of a death in the family or you need to go into work on payday, spend some time catching up on the new stuff here. and spend some time on UTube, there are many good how to do videos. Like this one:
  10. Got them little golden dudes right on time! Well they only had to travel around 80 miles in the FedEx wagon....
  11. My don't do list : don't buy a fixerupper horse trailer or piper cub. There is a couple of sad stories, but too painful to tell especially in my current delicate situation. BTY thanks for all the words of careing and encouragement.
  12. Well what do we have here?... aother cannon cocker turned trucker? You could be from Texas, except for ice fishing stuff. Only ice fishing I ever do is when that last six pack is on bottom of the cooler. I didn't know fishes could even swim in ice! Welcome from an old Jarhead Texas guy that was a MT section chief in a 105 towed battery back in the day of gasoline 2.5 ton trucks with a Ma-deuce ring mounted and an M1 next to the seat.
  13. .22 LR 36 gn hollowpoint Remington 525 bulk pack SKU21250 from Cdnn sport ,limit 12 boxes per order! for $49.88 each. I ordered plenty. My Remington modle 550-1 (.22LR, Long and Short) and my Ruger10-22 love these Remingtons, The 67 year old Remington 550-1 with the flooting chamber is so worn, actually part of the barrel that supports the flooting chamber is gone, that soft .22LR and .22Long cartridges like Winchester will swell at the front of the chamber and the rifle has to be disassembled to get the spent case out, a real pita. Remingtons are made of harder material and never cause that problem, a gunsmith told me this years ago. Shoot only Remington in a 550-1. On the schematic, the flooting chamber is item #50.
  14. Happy! Happy! Happy!.......
  15. I really doubt that a bunch of white guy hunters deserve any place to shoot and cook Bambi's daddy and mommy in any place as nice as this. Don't you feel guilty?
  16. Today has been a good day. I received my new Rough Justice 3#single stage trigger in the RFD mail box for a very good price. I didn't want the package deal, with the charging handle Thanks Van.
  17. That would be the thing to do. I been thinking about hiding GPS or puppy dog chip in both of my valuable possessions ( my 16# sledge hammer and my 80# anvil) I have wore out or torn up every thing else.
  18. That is what we did. Our Comanche County Medical center is 7 miles away. We don't have a regular cardiologist but a well equipped and trained ER to test and stabilize heart patients. A good bunch of EMTs and transport ambulances. The EMTs checked me into the big hospital and briefed the receiving trauma team and stayed until vitals were taken.
  19. Thank goodness you guys posted about site changes. I thought my little absence had changes my observation skills of not being able to see my fav spot (NEW CONTENT) and its star! Thursday morning wakeing up was a bummer. I had chest pains and left arm pain. told wife," We are heading to local hospital ASAP". after tests and a 100 mile ambulance ride to Temple Baylor and Scott & White in the rain they did tests, poking, blood lettings more tests and finally the wire thingie up the groin and umpteen X-ray machines I came out with one stint and overnight pokes and more bloodletting things went back to normal blood pressure wise, meds and diet changes. I feel like it was a wake-up call. back home now. My Daughter and family drove in to home from Lubbock Thursday night and drove wife to Temple, and then hauled my ass back home Saturday afternoon. Thank God for reveling wisdom, knowledge and understanding that has resulted in near miracle medical technical procedures and very shilled health givers.
  20. The same thing for me. I was hearing a lot about the.308 AR platform and I have had lukewarm feelings about a 5.6 mm being the universal infantryman's rifle.
  21. Well Doc , I had an inkling it was effect. I did wonder who would be first to comment on that point of questionable grammar. Thanks for the explanation. I always appreciate your postings.
  22. Actually I would hate all of those towers that have sprouted up every where in rural areas because of their side effect,or is it side affect of reaching up and plucking low flying aircraft out of their domain,, the sky, ...but I reckon that they do serve a useful service even if they look like a big old red-eyed spider when you fly over them. (IMHO)
