  1. Check this out ...
  2. DSG is currently holding a sale on the MI folding front sight for the special height Armalite factory gas block on the AR-10 @ $40.00 each. This is the cheapest I've seen this special application sight. https://dsgarms.com/miar10-affg They also have a special 24-hour sale going on until 11:59 PM CST tomorrow night. One of the Trijicon scopes is on sale.
  3. COOL ... perfect fit it seems too
  4. 360 rounds of brass-cased Red Army 7.62x39 FMJ. The brass casing of this caliber is still a bit high and not much to choose from.
  5. After you get back from the range please post an eval. I'm looking at 308-specific scopes right now. I have the P-223 but have not tried it out yet. Maybe next week.
  6. Nice gun. Your patience was well worth it. Very good job indeed.
  7. They sent a return label for UPS shipping. When the UPS driver dropped another package off at the house he took the case with him. That was Thursday evening. I get an e-mail this morning from them and they said that I had to go to UPS to drop it off as they would not send a UPS driver by to pick it up. I e-mailed them back and told them there's already movement on the tracking number. Heard nothing back from them. Seems they're pissed.
  8. Seems the "refugees" in Merkel's Deutchland is preferring axes these days. What is this the second or third such attack?

    Hello from MI

Welcome from Gulf Coast Texas. That receiver will be a nice build once finished.
  10. Yes but they are a pain in the ass to deal with. Supposedly I still have to await the arrival of some sort of return number and that has not arrived yet. They have me wait too long I'll just e-mail them back via Amazon and advise the status has changed from return to refund then I'll call Discover. Afterwards I'll simply buy from someone else. So far they haven't seem too worried about clearing it up, at least by the e-mail I have received from them.
  11. Thanks that is an idea but I've never heard of folks doing that here. I'll see what happens when they give me the return authorization. Maybe they will be able to schedule a pick-up here at the house.
  12. Case came in today and although it's in good shape they shipped the wrong color. I ordered OD Green and they sent black. Purchased this from a third-party seller via Amazon (Woodbury Outfitters in Ohio). Never returned anything mail-order before but I don't know how much more obvious the color indication could've been on the purchase order. It seems the procedure is to wait for the vendor to issue a return number then I have to wait at home for the shipper (FEDEX) to pick it up "when they are in the area". They claimed that once they show movement on the item being picked up they will ship the right case. I don't know if I should trust these people or not ... ? (LOL) I guess this is what I get for buying such an item online instead of paying about 25%+ more for the same ting locally.

    Howdy

Welcome from the Gulf Coast area of the state. Monitor closely you future dwindling bank account. These tend to disappear at an alarming rate once you join up here.
  14. Thanks. I've been looking at the P-308 and the M-308 also. I'd like to hear from somebody how one or both is.
  15. I have to agree but you never know what can happen. There is another range around here that's kind of new and they go out to 200 yards. I might for try them soon and see if they are flexible enough to allow this kind of thing. Again that camera is a great idea I just wonder how well it works.
  16. Yes I agree your idea IS viable. Problem out here is you occasionally get one or two shooters that shoot the targets of the shooters next to them, which is why I always ask to be placed on an end. Cuts the risk of that by 50%.
  17. I had considered binos and that is very likely what I will use. I go to a public outdoor range and they provide spotting scopes but they barely work at 25 yards ... LOL This bullseye camera looks like a great idea but at that range it's likely to get shot even if it's on the ground. Very attractive idea though.
  18. No I mean specifically the Mexican gray wolf. I got an e-mail yesterday from some group sending out a petition to save the Mexican gray wolf. Obviously this is distinctive from the red wolves, which are also endangered here in the USA now. They even had some photos in the e-mail of the wolves they were referring to.
  19. I've been told they occasionally come in from Mexico a lot like the Mexican gray wolf. They are magnificent critters for sure.
  20. I've just started shopping for spotting scopes. I'll go in to their website later and see what they offer. Don't recall actually seeing any Vortex spotting scopes at the gun shows, etc.
  21. What about spotting scopes ... do they make any of those? I'm looking for a good spotting scope that will allow me to actually see .223 rounds in a target at a minimum of 100 yards. Any suggestions will be appreciated.
  22. Thank you. I should have about a month or two before the intense tropical misery really sets in. I didn't know about these specifically but I had thought about a desiccant. When we go out of town I want to be able to stash these somewhere other than a closet.
  23. I'm looking at storing this in an attic storage on occasion that is out of sight (and hopefully will be out of mind) and I need something a little more moisture protective. Summers in Gulf Coast Texas last 9 months of the year with the humidity levels matching that of the temps of mid to high 90(s) and that's on a clear day. I need something that will guard against the humidity and salty air mostly.
  24. Thanks for the photos. I can probably get one of those at Harbor Freight. One of the reasons I went with the Pelican is because replacement foam seems easy to get. Definitely a positive option. Don't know what kind of number that hobby knife will play on a turkey breast this year but it is another idea for sure.
