If I do a bolt gun it’s going to be a chassis in .300 Win Mag. Obviously some around here are in fear of that one because the caliber in ammo moves the slowest. I’ve found a few boxes of Grendel other than Wolf Military but it’s still somewhat rationed on the shelves here and infrequent on the web, at reasonable prices anyway. 6.8 SPC is about the same and I bought a box of this in frangible a couple of weeks ago just to laugh in the face of disaster. Made damn sure I bought those RCBS dies first though. 👍

Already received the 16” stainless .243 barrel and proprietary gas tube and BCG from Wilson’s. All I have to do is screw it all together and mount it on this receiver I just purchased. Got a .260 Remington off and being head spaced on an FAL upper now. All I need is a long, long range to see how she performs. If the .260 likes me I’ll do an LR-308 upper in that caliber too. Nothing like having extra uppers to spread the selection of ammo out do you’ll always be able to find some regardless of how screwed up the clowns in DC are. Back during the Soetoro 2012 dark age only left on the shelves was the remaining corrosive East bloc ammo in their calibers but still had some .243, .300 Win. Mag, 22-250, 222, and scattered remnants of 30-30 (nobody seemed to like the 30-30 zombie green rounds 🤷‍♂️), and a tiny bit of 30.06. It was worse this time and I’m sure it will be worse again the next time. Sadly the 6.5 Grendel and 6.8 SPC is still on life-support. Glad I bought the reloading gear this time. 👍

I bought a simple bolt catch roll pin tool set after my first build. It’s designed to accommodate that pin installation specifically. I think it’s a Wheeler set. Works great. I also use tape to avoid the scratches. I also learned my lesson with the front takedown pin and I bought a special install rod for that. No more frustrations. 👍

These are interesting but I’ve never seen this specific model. I have one for an FAL but it’s somewhat different. The cheek weld options are awesome. After you get this to the range please give us your critique. 👍👍👍

Yes I found one at a gun show. It’s the type being sold now on GB for an exorbitant cost and is the type made once by UTG but is NOT the original Hensoldt design. I wrote UTG and they replied they stopped production on these several years ago and have no interest in doing them again.

I’m sure the two AZ blue mayors got in to office by election fraud anyway. Hopefully something will come out of the AZ audit that will force election law changes. Watching and hoping something in AZ and NH miraculously happens.

I’ve had Lancer, E-lander, OKAY mags fall out of AR15(s) until I adjusted the mag catch. I typically stick with Duramag stainless and Magpul 20 round mags for the AR10 and Ike’s .308. No problem with them ever.

Not backwards as that can easily sell if you later abandon the build. My venture in to the 6.5 Grendel caliber was a fairly recent last minute decision. Glad I don’t make that kind of decision much.

Sounds awesome but unless you’re already stocked up, good luck finding ammo for that right now. If you do find it the price is absolutely ridiculous.

Yes I’m on the waiting list for all that Hornady offers in 6.5 Grendel. To date all I have been able to get is 100 rounds of Wolf Military. 🤷‍♂️

I got my 16” Grendel upper only recently. I bought the mags first but only found about 100 rounds so far.

Oh I firmly agree. I don’t think I’ll be able to buy non-corrosive brass case 7.62x39 for less than a $1 a round in about 6 months. I’m sure steel case in that caliber will be where the brass case was in cost per round last year.

Yes I’ve never paid anywhere near that much for baseline 9MM which is why I haven’t purchased. Another had a better price of about .48 cents a round for the Czech Sellier & Bellot but I let that go too. I took too hard of a hit on the brass commie bloc to last the rest oft he year although the brass in that caliber was never as cheap as AR ammo once was about a year ago.
