Yum, am a bit of a prepper so we can quite a bit but never canned salsa, will have to tell the wife about that idea! Noth'in like a home grown tomato! ;-)

We used to have them pretty regularly on the podcast. People mailed in their check, or paid via paypal and were then entered in the drawing, the list of entries was posted on the website with some letters redacted as to protect privacy. We had one guy pull 5 names and laid them out randomly from left to right, and another guy would draw a card from a deck of cards with only the 1-5 cards in it, and that number was then counted from left to right and that lucky cat would be the winner. Was fun and we had a lot of participation, and the sponsors got involved and it grew pretty quick into some great items and a great thing for the podcast. The drawing process seems a bit over the top at first blush, but it alleviated anxiety for those who were certain there was foul play afoot. ;-)

The NRA cow-tows to the usurpers on a lot of $h!tty anti 2A and constitutional infringement line items, which included but is not limited to things like the Brady Bill which is the most obvious and egregious example. I am a Larry Pratt guy these days, the GOA is unflinching in the face of such unacceptable BS.

I meant rock solid as in: The program meets or exceeds current federal law, was simple to do, and has proven itself to work as advertised without complication. Yes I was told during the process that the Trust was indeed vetted (using their words not mine) by industry attorneys. Granted the attorneys who did the vetting for Silencerco were likely those whose interests like theirs are vested in making the whole process easier, more inclusive, and cheaper, as opposed to others like the lawyer mentioned above whose vested interest is perhaps in continuing to make the process complicated, exclusionary, and expensive. I like the whole idea of moving this process in a less is more direction! ;-)

I have Badger Ordnance rings and bases on 3 Rem 700's which include a VTR in 308W, a SPS Tactical in 300WM, & another SPS in 7mmRM. I run a Vortex Razor 5-20X50, a US Optics ST-10 Fixed 10X, and an IOR Valdada fixed 10X on each set up respectively. I prefer fixed power optics in most instances for a variety of reasons which are probably outside the scope (pun intended) of this post. I'd recommend bedding the base whether there is initial fitting play or not, lapping the rings, and tapping for larger 8-40 base set screws, as well as using lock-tite on all the base and ring screws. Noted and agreed, however I am not a Rockefeller, and I suspect most who use Silencerco's EasyTrust product are not either, so our relatively simple gun trust's just do not require the ultra complex legal ease or extensive litigation type language that something like a full fledged Hunt family trust would in comparison. I get your point though, and in many instances I am like minded, but in this case with the benefit of hindsight I simply see Silencerco as making a brilliant, calculated business decision to provide their customers with the necessary framework, in as easy and inexpensive a format as possible to provide access to a broader spectrum of people, not just the Rockefellers, and ensure they have as unimpeded access to purchase and possess their class lll products. One scorned lawyer does not a bad product make. If there were issues with the Silencerco product you would see it popping up all around the internet, and that is not the case, this criticism appears to be isolated to and the direct result of this one guy who represents a bunch of other over privileged attorneys, who like all over privileged attorneys are desperate to keep their exclusive club intact and exorbitant profits rolling in.

Fair enough, funny though how he is the only guy on the internet calling Silencerco out? Anyway, 98Z5V I sent you a PM earlier, lets start a thread elsewhere on the .338 Federal so I can take some advice from you on that front! ;-) Ha

Well, just to be fair, one must take into consideration it is a lawyer who makes his bones selling expensive gun trusts and probably doesn't like seeing his margins eroded who is making those claims, its not the ATF saying anything which raises my "he's just being a hater" apparatus and makes me somewhat skeptical as to his sincerity or its veracity. Listen, it may very well be so, and perhaps there is room for improvement over there, however, they are certainly doing an adequate job of providing what the law requires, I gather its working very well for a whole lot of PPL, and I am definitely a satisfied customer, so take that for what its worth to you, I can only speak from my own experience, for us it was a fast, easy, and inexpensive process, and has performed flawlessly on three occasions thus far. However I will call them Monday and inquire as to their position with respect to this article, then I will advise herein as to the outcome. ;-)

Silencerco's EasyTrust program is rock solid in all 50 states, it has been vetted by the best attorneys in the industry. Yes it is also super reasonable at $129. I highly recommend them, no reason to look further, make it more complicated, or spend a lot of dough.

I am a big fan of the x-caliber barrels, have two of them, one on a 7mm RM and another on a 300 WM, great choice! Have you checked out the Huber trigger, I don't have one but the guys who run John Huber triggers swear by them, kinda pricey tho. ;-)
