Someone needs to tell beach about that for his wife's lightweight build!
-
I like the matrix idea. I will have to give them strong consideration on my next build, which will probably be that 338 Fed I wanted. On this current 308 build I went with the K.I.S.S. theory given the lack of 308AR Mil-Spec datum & my lack of 308AR experience, so I bought from what is essentially my local vendor aside from Seekins, which is Aero Precision.

Have you friends dad grab that backpage M6A2!

Hey JT, I was going with a JP product on my AP build, but tell ya what, get it and give it a shot, I'm sure Tom will walk ya thru it, but if it isn't a fit I will bail ya out and buy it from you. Its a no lose proposition, luv those!

Ya I gathered as much, just haven't seen him responding much and considering SS's posts, well I just thought I'd take one for the team. I saw you were supportive and wasn't overly concerned. ;-) Did I mention this LMT bolt is just f**king bad ass?! Hope it runs as good as it looks!

Meh... Heads and shoulders better Blue. Now 1K is a subjective thing to be certain, but the LMT is just in a different league altogether than the RRA, although the RRA is by no means a bad rifle, the quality, fit and finish on the LMT is a different animal. IMO

Gonna be a pretty whippy free floated barrel chambered in .308 I suspect... Maybe its a great thing, but my gut is saying don't be pound wise and precision foolish. Lets allow the real experts here at 308AR to weigh in... (no pun intended)

Small problem with free float handguard with rail gas block.
GreyGoose replied to CASEYPM's topic in Building a .308AR
And... so did you hit the range... where's the report? ;-) CONGRATS! -

Anderson is not bad, I have built two for my kids that I picked up locally, and they ran perfectly. I am building an Aero Precision 308AR now, and to be perfectly honest, if I was in your shoes even though they are twice as expensive I would go to them in a heartbeat, very nice quality, price point, and customer service. Check them out, you might like what you see!

Slight digression if I may you two: I got my LMT bolt today, what a f**king masterpiece! Can't wait to put this stuff all together!!! Digression ended: Once you all get this D.Wilson bolt stuff cleared up I may try that on the next one. (If I was Mr Wilson I'd be dilligent about jumping in on this thread and aggressively getting it resolved considering...) Just say'in, that's at least how I do business.

Ya Brother, thanks Mag for keeping the fire down south of the panhandle, we have had the Bayview fire and a few hot spots here and there, but did our best to keep it west of the ID/WA state line, no offense Wash. But now we got a little rain, the weather has cooled, and we are a few weeks from humping it up into the Selkirk's this year to find a big bull for my 18 yr old! Wish us luck!!!

No no, the mil-spec stuff in an AR-15 build will join up just almost always, occasionally there are very subtle particulars that annoy me when mating receivers from different manufacturers, and most of my earlier guns were that way, but you are right there are no worries there, honestly was more of an anal thing on my part about having a complete gun with matching receivers... LOL...your idea would work without complication I am sure. ;-)

Why DI, don't want to get into the same old debate, but piston driven AR's ROCK! Cleaner, more reliable, can't imagine why if you could have one why you wouldn't want it? Don't get me wrong, DI is just fine as well and just as reliable, if, you are a good steward and do the due diligence of routine cleaning and maintenance. And IMO Gunbroker is awesome, I have picked up a few nice rigs from there, no different than ebay, you can tell if the guy is a guy you wanna deal with from feedback, anyway, I am G2G on that deal! ;-) IMO there are many fine rifles in that price range; LMT, LWRC, GAP, Daniel Defense, Knights Armory, Noveske, LaRue, BCM, etc. But get the LWRC!!!!
-
That is a very good deal for a basic mil-spec AR, bout as cheap as its gonna get for anything worth having, and you can keep it paired as PSA has their stripped lowers on sale for a very aggressive price too regularly, or pick up a PSA blem, you usually can't tell where the blem was...
-
Go here and get a LWRC MA62. It is one of the finest AR platform 5.56 rifles in the world... ...a top tier, special forces caliber carbine, and you can have one for that 2K price range!

10-4, thx guys!

Save yourself the headache and potential liability Jacob, the polymer lower is $49 bucks and .38lbs, and this 7075-T6 aluminum lower is $55 and .53lbs... Its a no brainer IMO. Not often you can get that kind of piece of mind with so little in exchange respectively! ;-)

Yes indeed Tom! Its a Brugger & Thomet TP9-US 9mm pistol. Made in Switzerland, not the older DSA clone, its the semi auto version of the military MP9.
-
The prices for quality MILSPEC 7075-T6 forged aluminum stripped lowers are very reasonable right now, no reason to head off on a road less traveled when it comes to this stuff. ;-)

Oh ya, ole Eddie Bernays, had a thing for his Mom, lol, ya he's responsible for women smoking, two cars in every garage, and everyone thinking they had to keep up with the Jones'.

Oh ya right, you mean good ole Woodrow who was; a racist, played a major role in dictating the terms of the Treaty of Versaille, basically destroying the German economy, was the first American President to spread democracy to another country, Germany, and that turned out just swell..., he enacted the first federal anti-drug prohibition and consequently filled our prisons with needless victim-less criminals, he re-segregated the military, he tolerated the rebirth of the Ku Klux Klan, he literally paved the way for our current fiat funny-money by supporting the establishment of the Federal Reserve, he pushed for the adoption of the income tax, he gutted the state's power in the Senate by supporting popular election of senators, he failed to take an active role in preventing the Lusitania disaster because the Germans said they were going to sink her because she was carrying ammunition and the Germans and Americans both knew it, and finally he was one of the fathers of the NWO by supporting the founding of The League of Nations! Whew, what a piece of work he was!
