  1. DSG...not ringing a bell! Help me with this one!
  2. Yeah, young and dumb, sold em, now I could kick myself in the ass!
  3. Got my rig(lifesaving device) back from my rigger today! All fresh and repacked ready for warm weather!
  4. Yeah that is a little more than I want to spend for a receiver set! Got a reply back from Rainer they say it's a perfect match to their receivers, they also sell the switch on their site! I'm in no hurry right now, I can wait till they become available again, maybe a black Friday deal!!
  5. Ok, maybe it is a common thing in 308 extensions, but, none of my 5.56's where like this!
  6. I have a really old switch blade my father gave me to use when I was in the boy scouts. Had to keep it low profile illegal in PA, probably still is! Carried it as my pocket knife in the army too! I'll have to look for it and snap a picture, still have it somewhere!
  7. i had a model 1 and 14, both with the micarta(spelling?) handles.
  8. Awesome it is! Can't wait to finish and put it through its paces!
  9. Think maybe he sanded it to much and made it to flat and now won't crush down. Get a good barrel clamp and try another crush washer. If it is a 2 it should make it, just need to torque it!
  10. WOW...born in 57 everything said above was my childhood!! Bringing back so many memories! Life was so good and so much simpler then!
  11. Thanks Nathan good to know! I will get to it so I can finish this build.
  12. I'm mesmerized looking at the IDF girls!
  13. Hey Frank got a email back from Rainer, they say the Fortis fits their upper perfect! Just don't want to spend that much right now on a complete receiver! Now need to rethink my build, if I'm gonna go with the Rainer it will be my long range shooter and this Aero will be the short carry piece! Need to start looking for a 16" barrel and handguard!
  14. Welcome from PA
  15. Welcome from PA
  16. Had 2 Randall's I got back in the mid 70's, and carried them always! There was no writing on my blades either. Spoke to him when I ordered them on the phone, great guy. I believe it is his grandson who has the business now. Sold mine just before I got out, sure wise I didn't now!
  17. Since I'm here let me add a few of the things I like to do. Yes. I like to jump out of perfectly good airplanes, and off of objects! Also like to ski and scuba dive, though not much time for them anymore. I am a home theater nut, have a awesome theater in the house! Like to DIY everything, just gutted the girlfriends kitchen and hallway and upgraded everything!
  18. Hahaha...I jump off those things!!! What a rush! Climbed a couple big radio towers to jump off, they were putting out so much power you could feel it on your skin, felt like bugs crawling all over you!
  19. Thanks unforgiven. Hoyt you guys were great, always got us right over insertion point! Most did think we were a little nuts for jumping out of those planes!
  20. These are what I use to clamp a barrel in the vise. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0057PUEZO?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s00
  21. There is a very long thread about this happening to someone over on the ar forum. Many guys chimed in on this, and few gun Smiths...they all said it's pretty much toast! I would contact the manufacturer and see what you could work out! They also said the reaction rod and receiver clamp vise is a big no, no for this! Use a barrel clamp only!
  22. I do FA on all my builds...old school army!
  23. No, sold them back in the 90's when a friend and I decided to open a gun shop! Also sold 2 complete Dan Wesson pistol packs from the 70's in pristine condition!
  24. Yeah...I'm feeling it!!
  25. Wash, you'd cry if you saw the price I paid for mine back in the late 70's! I was stationed at Bragg then. By the middle of the month GI's needed money bad and I got em for a steal! It was either me or the pawn shop, and tried to get them before they ended up there!
