  1. Thanks to all, I have ordered the SENTRY 9 SET SCREW ADJUSTABLE GAS BLOCK. I am so anticipating the completion of this build
  2. Welcome from Louisiana
  3. I just read your information on buffers and springs. I'm in the process of building my 1st complete lower (waiting on parts to arrive). I have ordered a David Tubb flat spring to go into my A2 buffer tube. I purchased from Aero Precision along with buffer. You stated stay away from flat springs. Please explain, I really want to build this right.

    Thanks

  4. Well learned a lesson today. Don't assume anything when ordering parts in AR308 format. I purchased a DPMS a couple months ago, the rifle was purchased from a friend who had only had it a few months, and he purchased new. So I assumed it was a Gen 2. WRONG So the upper I bought won't fit. Big decision to make, send back and start over with finding Gen 1 upper in 6.5 or build a lower!!!! Ordered Aero Precision stripped lower to match my upper. Ordered A2 buffer tube, David Tubb buffer Spring, and buffer for rifle length gas system, Magpul PRS stock. Standard lower kit, and Magpul MOE grip. Should be here by the end of the week. Am so excited about this build. I just hope I get it right this time.
  5. I am also building a 6.5 upper, trying to choose a adjustable gas block now. I have the Ballistic Advantage 22" barrel. Need a .936 block. Any suggestions, as I have never used one before.
  6. I'm looking at getting one for my 308, how has the barrel turned out? Was it clean when you received it, and most of all is it a shooter?
  7. I have always been a bolt action shooter. I was raised believing that semiautos were made for people who couldn't shoot, so they could sling a bunch of lead in hopes of one bullet hitting the mark. 2 years ago a friend brought a guest to hunt with us. He had an AR10. I never put down anyone's choice of firearms. But I asked many questions, so after the hunt was over, he asked if I would care to shoot it. Well it shot really well. I kept thinking about getting one since then. We'll I purchased my first one 3 days ago. I will be shooting it for the first time tomorrow. I can't wait.
