Yeah ... well I didn't think those would work in my PSA , and I didn't haven't enough time to learn the whole Armalite system back then ;)

Request: PSA offer upper with adjustable gas block

What rifle ? My .458 Lott is a Ruger single shoot, that started as a .458 Win. Mag. ... I even had it chambered for the Lott before it was "king" of the various other .458 ( lucky choice ! Lol ) -
And he changed from a carbine spring to a rifle length spring... and it is still functioning. If he wants to tune it more, I stand by my suggestion. I've never quite understood why anyone wouldn't want a softer recoiling, still 100% functioning firearm... If I could shoot my .308 and have it recoil like a .223... simply by changing the volume of gas flow... why wouldn't anyone want that... easier on the shoulder, easier to stay on target, easier on the brass, easier on the parts... and still 100% function....

Some day, we will have to get together and beat the heck out of our shoulders with those big bores. Btw.. the .458 Lott with a Hornady 500gr solid shoot straight through 39 1/2 inches of pine tree... and the bullet didn't even deform. I will have to get my collection ballistic tested bullets from before gel... we used soggy 24hr water soaked newsprint for comparisons. We tested a heck of a lot of rifle and handgun bullets, right around the Black Talon era. -

Lol... I hear you, but I certainly enjoy the lighter recoil impulse from my adj. GB. And my 1886 Browning kicks pretty stiffly with 405gr Rem and a heavy charge of H322... but not as much as my .458 Lott ;) -
FYI... PSA using 2 different buffer system lengths
bfoosh006 replied to bfoosh006's topic in Palmetto State Armory
And that is a good price. BTW... the Tubbs Flatwire will compress shorter then a round wire.. so it works with danged near every conventional buffer system. Just not the ultra short systems. -
Any day shooting is a good day. Those are good groups from factory ammo. Uniform neck tension is important to accuracy... so I'd crimp just enough to prevent possible setback... pushing the crimped bullet into a solid surface will show you if there is enough crimp / neck tension... if it doesn't budge.. you should have enough.

IMHO... I'd get a heavier buffer... KAK 9.3oz .308 AR rifle length. And , sorry, do you have an adjustable GB ?

To be blunt... a quality adjustable GB is more important then an adjustable GB. A cost effective adjustable GB may be more of a hindrance then a blessing... we all have seen the frustration wrought by a lower quality adjust. GB. Sooo... while a adj. GB would be great...the added cost, in some instances, be a 25% increase in the cost of the bargain upper. Personally, I would rather add my own choice. In other words... I'll buy the truck, ( without the decals ) and I'll add what I want... .. give me a solid base to build on. -
Thank You for all your help at the PSA Industry Forums ! And very glad to have you aboard ! Thanks for all the kind words.

Nice to see another PSA owner ! Good shooting !! Before you go to far into reloading for accuracy .... get an adjustable GB, that alone is one of the best add-on's for the PSA. MUCH softer shooting off the bench, much easier to stay on target, much easier on the brass... much easier on the parts. One of the Best aftermarket purchases I have ever made, frankly, IMHO just as important as a better trigger..... I have installed them on every .308 and 6.5CM I have worked on... from 12.5" to 22" . Keep us posted on your results !! Thank You !

The feed ramps are fine, as long as they are smooth and your rifle feeds properly. And, believe it or not, the dents are from the ejection cycle... the cases are banging the case deflector or even the ejection port. You would be surprised how much .308 cases fly around upon ejection ( P.S. ..NOT extraction ).. spinning etc... Personally... ( and YMMV ) I'd plan on slowing the cyclic speed. An adjustable GB might be in your future....

I have gotten all my PSA stuff to run correctly and how I want them to... I am now convinced PSA is run by Millennials... and they have all the issues common with Millennials. ( no offense to any Millennials here.. ) Lol. -
New 20" barrel, now it short strokes
bfoosh006 replied to Dracomeister's topic in General Discussion
I am going to order a ToolCraft nitrated .308 complete BCG to try in my PSA ... since PSA sells a Cryptic Coatings BCG.. and CC uses Toolcraft, I am "assuming" it will work, but as mentioned earlier... hands on results are ( and measurements ) will produce facts. I want another spare BCG anyway.... ;) -

I have to say.... I never even considered looking for this parts change. I mean no one does this... except PSA. ..... as others have said... PSA clearly has no in house R&D, and just buys stuff kind of higgledy- pigglyed. Again, where are PSA armorers ? -
I have had the best luck phoning early in the morning.... NEVER in the afternoon. Heck, I even got through on the first ring once !?!? ( I think she pressed the wrong button... Lol )

IMHO, PSA counts on no one noticing the changes. Even the HP Bolt and small diameter FP has been quietly handled.... and quite effectively. I will still buy from them... but , wow... talk about shooting from the hip. -
Glad to... Here are the measured weights and lengths between the "New" and "Older" versions. Again, remember these parts do not interchange... unless you the complete buffer system ( DPMS v. Armalite ) New / Armalite / Longer.......................... Older / DPMS / Shorter Supplied OEM PSA buffer ............ ( Both are way to light IMHO, they should be min. 5.4oz ) .....3.8oz / OAL 3.260"...................................3.8oz / OAL 2.5" Supplied OEM PSA Buffer Tube...... .....5.0oz / OAL 7 7/8" ..................................5.0oz / OAL 7 1/4" Supplied OEM PSA Buffer Spring..... ......1.5oz / OAL 11 3/8" / 29coils..................1.5oz / OAL 10 5/8" / 28coils Difference between the two, in the fully compressed spring / buffer / BCG bottomed out in the buffer tubes using the supplied parts.... the "New" Buffer system is 3/32 longer and will not compress as short as the old one.... so if you are having Bolt catch issues... this is possibly why. The depth of the "New" buffer tube is 7 11/16" Again the "New" buffer system length is a better choice IMHO , allowing for more common parts and a heavier buffer weight.... However.... changing mid-stream is bound to confuse the subject.

Fully agree, including the 9MM PCC world, and 6.5CM World... so Me included.... And they have outstanding bargains.... I just wish I didn't have to hop on that crazy ass merry go round, when there is an issue... LOl
