  1. That was the first thing I checked after I installed the buffer and spring. It does go back and catch on the bolt face when manually cycled. Also, the bolt does hold open after the last round is fired.
  2. I had doubts about sharing this less than flattering moment with the internet but said "fugg it, if i can make someone out there laugh for a second or two, go for it". I ain't too proud. No effing way I'd post that on ar15dotcom. I'd be burned to a crisp. You guys seem like a decent bunch though.
  3. yeah buddy. As the saying goes "you learn something every day". I learned that my rifle does NOT like to be finger-banged. She'll bite ya.
  4. Went test fire my new PA10 build. Had a few FTE. Pulled the bolt back to the bolt catch to clear the fired case. I guess when I removed the magazine the bolt was released from the FUULLYY FUCKIN' retacted position and ....CHOMP with my finger in the way. My avatar is the actual pic of my face when this happened. True story. Ima dumbass
  5. I'm about to sit down and have mine! Pass the Tabasco sauce!! Got off my ass this afternoon and went to my friends place just to see how my new toy works. Welp... it was a complete failure by any measure. First box of Fed Fusion 165: 2 out of 20 FT eject. 20 rnds of my handload hunting rounds ran perfect. Next box of Fusion 165, 15 of 20 same failure to eject. The gun was trying to feed a round with the spent cartridge still in place. Now I can't say it was completely the rifle's fault. During my research on the PA-10, prior to building one, Some folks had mentioned that PSA installs 2 orings under the extractor nad that it can cause issues. I preemptively removed one from my bolt prior to shooting. Dunno if that was the cause but I replaced it and will try again this week. Here's the aftermath when I went to clear the rifle:https://forum.308ar.com/topic/15224-guess-how-i-did-this/#comment-223048
  6. Any body recognize this pattern? You can bet I won't do that again!
  7. Full disclosure: I haven't shot mine yet. The range is about an hour from me and I have yet to make the drive. I'm fully prepared plate up a heaping serving of crow if I must. I'll let y'all know...
  8. Most reports I've read on the Gen 2's indicate that they run fine, aside from being over gassed, which is very common in a 308 carbine. Most negative reports have been from those who don't even own one. It's internet's.
  9. I haven't loaded/tested a bunch of different stuff in 308. I did however do a bunch of digging and Varget is very popular for the 308. I load Sierra 165 GK HPBT for my Xbolt and get .435"@100. 42.5 gr Varget, CCI 200, Federal case. I still haven't shot my PA10 yet but I'll ladder up a set for that as well. Sorry i couldn't be more helpful.
  10. Here's my PA10, no optics, no mag. Handles really well. Weighs the same as my Marlin 336 loaded.
  11. Naughty, naughty, Koolaide!
  12. Cooked up some 35 Rem. 180gn Speer over Varget.
  13. Just mic'd it. More like .015" wobble. I don't reload in large volumes so I'll just end up with a good single stage. RC supreme is on sale. Fugg it..
  14. It's got about .005 play with the ram all the way up. I still get good groups from it so i guess it still does the job. I just have a habit of spending money when i get bored.
  15. I'm currently using an old RCBS RS cast iron press. My dad bought it in the 70's and he gave it to me. It's loaded thousands of rounds and still gets the job done. My question is this; how do the new RC presses compare to the old RS? Does the compounding lever help? I was also looking at the Lee classic cast. Looks like a solid press.
  16. Armaspec stealth recoil spring...
  17. An ounce of prevention......
  18. That's an impressive plethora of flavors you got. How was the fit between the upper and lower on your's?
  19. Thank you. 18" mid length, 10.25" handguard.
  20. Very nice. These fat bastards aren't for the timid. Mine pulls about 10.25 lbs of gravity empty. Here's how it sits right now.
