  1. @Lonewolf McQuade If you're able to get decent accuracy with a 62 gr in your rig, there isn't any reason to at least try to get a 69er to work. There's definitely a breaking point for stabilizing these things when they get heavy and long. But like I said, I don't have any personal experience with 1:9 barrels. Have you tried any Varmint bullets below 50 gr? There's something to be said about the speed you get out of those lil ones.
  2. Certainly a 55 gr, but I would assume possibly up to 62 gr with a long enough barrel, but I have never owned a 1:9. I don't have any personal experience with that twist. That falls under the expertise of @98Z5V to answer that question "somewhat" intelligently.
  3. SOME of these guys are getting away with using 55 gr in their 223's. To give yourself the best chance I wouldn't load anything less than 75 gr. I'm shooting 77 gr Sierra MK's and @98Z5V is running Hornady 75 gr BTHP's. Dirt Bike Tommy was trying 69 gr and they were definitely running out of steam for everything over 500 yds. Lots of drop, lots of low misses. The heavier just carry better further out, more accurately. I'm getting my 77 gr to run at 2770 fps. If you're not running a 1:7 twist, there's a chance you might be stuck with a 69 gr. I wouldn't advise going any less than that for this match. I have a feeling these fukkers are gonna bust out a 700 yd target one of these days. The long targets we have shot so far are: 510, 470, 425, 500, 640, 460, 485, 625, 630, 505, and 610. We've never had a target under 200 and that lil sum beyotch was 3"! Plus, @98Z5V favorite ones. The sharks at 210! The bulk of the close targets are 300+ yds. The majority of these targets fall in the 300-500 range, so having a good projectile that can do the job is definitely a good idea. At least in my opinion, you want to give yourself the best opportunity to succeed.
  4. Tommy and I are already on it. We'll make it happen.
  5. I believe we can make some version of it happen. We'll start collecting materials.
  6. Whatever Tom want's to call it, that piece of carpet smelled like an old wet dog. I would have gladly paid whatever it would cost for a NEW piece of carpet instead of laying on that nasty thing ever again.
  7. Without missing that 1 target, that would only have bumped me up to 10th place. The competition is tough! All those guys in the top 11 spots really know what they're doing. It's awesome to watch. Especially on the timed stage.
  8. @98Z5V Did you change or tighten the loose nut behind the stock? That would be the biggest improvement you could make.
  9. Now I know why you did so well. You cheated! You were using a bipod AND a tripod!
  10. How would I have any doubts when you made it look so easy!
  11. Actually, I saw @98Z5V hit it and I thought, "Shiit, if he can hit it, it must not be as tough as it looks". Failure never crossed my mind.
  12. We need to bring it in to 50 yds and shoot it with pistols. I'll make a new, smaller one for the 450.
  13. I have a game for us to play over at Poverty tank. 500, 850 and 1000. And don't forget about Tic Tact Toe!
  14. It is! Especially when your hitting!
  15. Quality training is key. Trust me. I'm a professional. 🍻
  16. @98Z5V I didn't know you had a rifle that shot that good! Pretty impressive, buddy. For an old blind squirrel.
  17. Get it straight, boy. I was 4th...
  18. Thanks, man! Even with a called pulled shot high and right on the second group, it still measured at .7". I'm going to have to call that load a good one for what it is. We won't discuss how long it's taken and how many rounds I've run through it to get it to that point, but I'm happy with where it's landed, for sure.
  19. Difference between him and you, is he knows how to tell someone they're all fukt up in a nice way.
  20. I suppose so. I haven't read the directions yet. And @98Z5V shiit talking just sounds like Charlie Brown's teachers, anyway...
  21. Walker's SILENCER Electronic Ear Buds. Comes with a hard plastic case that recharges them when you put them in it. They have blue tooth and a bunch of fancy poop that I'll probably never use, but damn they work good. At least for me.
  22. I would have never even considered them before based on their price alone. However, I received them as a gift, and now having used them I realize I should have bought them years ago. I've tried everything in my career, and those damn things are awesome. If these ever break or get damaged, I'll buy another set without hesitation.
  23. How bad do you want them? Might hafta pay a lil more, but ya still might be able to pick up a couple boxes? https://www.projectilewarehouse.com.au/products/hornady-30-cal-308-225-gr-eld-match https://www.buckduckturk.com/30-cal-308-225gr-eld-match-100
