Fast forward this video to the 3:00 minute mark. Slow the video down in the options menu. Pay close attention to the frame. Look at how badly the frame wobbles and bounces.

I am a big fan of frame mounted compensators. Not only do they improve the performance of a weapon, they look really cool. However, in my opinion, they will never work on a polymer gun, and here's why. I recently purchased a fmc from HK Parts. And for less than $800, I had a weapon that I really liked. However, the compensator mounting method is just not secure. It relies on 2 screws to come through the bottom of the compensator, to seat in the notch of the the frame of my Glock 17 Gen 5. I did email them, and their customer service is great, and offered me a refund, so kudos to them for that. I even considered taking it to a machine shop to come up with a new mounting method, but the problem is the Glock frame. HK Parts has done a different method for the HK, which does seem solid. The HK P30L for instance seems somewhat solid. I'll post a video showing at slow motion, the P30L in slow motion, and how the polymer frame is just too weak for a fmc. It basically opens up like a banana, and the frame actually rocks left and right, then slaps together. Ill also show the method of attachment to the Glock and why this is not working. I'm posting this in hopes that this concept is improved upon. Is anyone doing this correctly? Yes, Sig Sauer is. Especially with their P220 Sport (no longer in production). But their metal guns have given custom gun makers a sturdy base to work off of. So because of that, I am considering picking one up, because I like this style that much. Overall the product that HK Parts makes is very cool. If designers could redesign a better mounting method, I think it's great. I do say though, that tiny machined screws need to go. Because the compensator needs to be taken off frequently for cleaning. And it needs to account for the weak frame of polymer guns. Just my 2 cents...

Came across this video today about how to properly use a bore snake. I didn't realize there was a proper method. I really like these. So quick and easy. I've been using CLP, so I just soak the beginning and the end of the snake.

What do you have on order or in the mail? Part 2

Just got my 32inch rifle bag and Sparc AR optic in today. The bag was $40 and the Sparc was $120. I'm pretty happy with it. The bag is really nice. Both are on sale from PSA. -
Well I picked up these fixed sights from Ozark for $35. Apparently they used to have quality control issues, but I've gotten 2 sets now and am happy with the fit and finish. I noticed other brands were $130 just for the rear. I just wanted something simple for my rifle most of the time. I also did but a red dot I got on sale from PSA and will be in today. So I'll have 4 options now. A scope, offset sights, iron sights, and a red dot. All for about $450.

Here in Florida, summer is friggin ridiculously hot and humid. Go outside at midnight and it's like a sauna. But I love Florida. My favorite state!

I lived in Indiana for 14 years. French Lick! Hey Hoosier!

I found out that this gun club has a 2,000 yard range. And they will let you hunt hog on their land. They will keep me entertained for years 😃

Dogs are just so fun. When I was a kid, my dad bought a German Wire Hair Pointer. He's been gone 20 years, but I still miss him.

I haven't shot my rifle yet. I'm pretty optimistic, as PSA has gotten better. The buffer springs on the AR10 are kinda picky. I'm hoping the folder works because I really like it. I wish they made the "Dolos" removable barrel, to keep things more compact. But these AR10 makers have yet to get on the same page.

For me, it's about individual rights vs. authority... We are all created equal. Every human being on earth is equal, with the same rights. It doesn't matter if you're a king, or Pope, or Caesar, we are truly ALL created equal. Who disagrees with this??? That being said, leads to my next question..."By what right do I have to tell you, what you should have to defend you and your family"? The truth is that I do not have any right to do so. If I ever claimed I did, then I would fit into the tyrant category. Which leads to the next question. "Where does the government get the right to create gun laws"? The answer is "The People"! Now enters confusion. "So the people, who are all created with the same rights, give a right that they don't have to others, to decide what weapons they are allowed to have to defend their life and family"? (scratching my head) The Constitution is an unusual document. It does not give any power to anyone. It merely recognizes the power by which every human is born with. The most important part being that "we are all equal". That statement makes us different in America. We recognize that we all have the same rights. It doesn't matter if you claim "the divine right of kings, because we reject that in this nation. Usually when I say this, the simps run out and accuse me of being against "peace officers", which I'm not. There are truly evil people in this world, and there needs to be a opposing force to deal with it. Every day since 1776 we have been trying to figure this out. It's not easy, and freedom is complicated. However, I go back to individual freedom which should be the pursuit of every American. I'll choose "dangerous freedom over peaceful slavery" any day. That's my rant....

I like those =) very cool!

You make a good argument for both. It's so easy to waste money on gun stuff that I just really don't need. The iron sights feel the most comfortable to me. Which is great considering weight and performance. Choosing Iron sights is such a low drag system inside 500 yards. I'm going to be shopping today for some good fixed irons.

The M14 sight picture is by far my favorite. It just feels so natural. I do own a scope, but I was considering on what my AR10 would have on a regular basis. I've been looking around at different options. I just cant find anything better than the old school irons. Lightens my my rifle too 😃

Welcome! A lot of information here, have fun!

Disclaimer: I am not a military dude, nor an expert. In my research, I have come to the conclusion that iron sights really are the best. Why? Every Marine must qualify at 500 yards with iron sights, (Marines add your opinion). Iron sights pride an open filed of view, unlike optics. They are good for a long ways. Red dots are almost the cost of another rifle. If you want to shoot past 500 yards, I"ll definitely need an optic. But inside 500 yards, irons are fine for me. Just my opinion, and offering this for your consideration before you spend $$$ on a red dot. I prefer iron sights. They are superior to me.
