  5. Some firearm forums dont allow any external links let alone links to competitors of advertisers or other forums. We arent like that in fact I let most stuff fly. In the case of the Mega stuff though as pointed out earlier Mega is represented here by Dave Branson and we encourage folks to use him when possible. Dont feel like your getting hassled or anything, thats not the case. all things being equal we want to support those that support this site. Lastly keep in mind Mega doesnt want to see the group prices listed publicly. Now go back to figuring out how your going to explain the monolithic or MA-TEN to the wife. "It's not mine Im holding it for a friend" works for me.
  6. This thing BROKE MY BALLS TODAY. Getting the gas tube in the gas block was a royal pain in the ass. I believe there may have been a burr in the block which was compounded by the added thickness of the melonite coated gas tube. I managed to get the gas tube stuck. Had to ruin it to remove it. With a lot of patience and a spare gas tube I perservered. Just need a crush washer and to pin the stock and muzzle brake.
  7. So the Wilson Combat TRIM RAIL requires a 1 3/16 wrench for their proprietary barrel nut. There's another $40 gone for a crowfoot wrench >:(
  8. For me visiting the attorney was an eye opener. We got quite creative with the trust, well beyond my original intentions. It really became about paths for any forseable trouble and well beyond my death. I read on another site that one of the reasons the BATFE has now made it so inspectors have territories is to be better familiar with local laws and get a better handle on boiler plate trusts. Local gunshop here had a trust made by the same attorney I use. The shop made that into a template. The attorney is not amused. One of the silencer forums had a few folks reporting issues with quicken and similar trusts after the form 4's were approved. No way to verify the truth of it though. Based on my own recent experience they are looking for ANY reason to halt the process.
  9. let me know if you stumble across a magazine catch spring. Im still missing one from yesterday. ;D
  10. Thats sound advice <thumbsup>
  11. These just popped up in stock this weekend. Get them here while they last or wait for the next batch.
  12. I have been working with the SMF team on security issues since November. Once they satisfy that I can hit them up about the avatars. Who knows maybe it will be fixed in the next update. This SMF 2 is a very new version of SMF software.
  13. I have been doing this for a long time and have either ran or adminstrated just about every piece of forum software out there. I'm always looking for something "Better". VB4 is a pile of pooh. They are under new ownership and the new ownership has a different philosophy than the creators. Folks on earlier versions are refusing to upgrade. Search Google for conversions from VB4 to just about anything else. It's pretty interesting. I considered all options regardless of cost before moving to the new server. At the end of the day while not perfect SMF was at the top with another software. It simply makes no sense to change at this time. I actually hope VB gets their shit together again one day. Thanks!
  14. This forum is open source software. We are at the mercy of the creators for updates and bug fixes.
  15. On a budget you can also run a straight up Armalite AR-10 carbine spring and buffer. With the adjustable gas block you can probably do without the heavy buffer. If you go with the heavy buffer you will need the modified AR-10 spring. Fulton Armory also has buffers and springs that will work.
  16. bwah ha ha ha ha :laughing4:
  17. The guy missing half his fingers is assembling 3 AR-15 lowers today. Springs and things are flying like there's no tomorrow ;D
  18. I have a friend in Iowa who used to say he had a 440 Charger just to out run tornado's
