  1. Sometimes it does good to talk this stuff out. I was chatting with a good friend this evening and we decided a better plan would be to ditch my DPMS 24" rifle and keep the MATEN set. I think I will do that but I will need to reconfigure the DPMS first. Swap the trigger and stock to something else.
  2. I don't think any mags you guys would be interested in will be on the list. I think I only have M14 mags going, and if a buddy buys my GSG5 he will have first crack at the GSG5 mags. No AR, LR 308's or pistol magazines
  3. In the background, the cutlerly on the left..is it a knife or a weapon?
  4. Tom would buy 10 along with some triggers
  5. Yes the charging handle of the ASA is not attached to the carrier and does not move when the gun cycles
  6. Actually they went out a few months ago and screwed a bunch of folks over.
  7. What the picture does not show is the true ambidextrous nature of the cake. The bottom looks exactly like the top. The cake can be eaten with either a long dinner fork or a shorter salad fork. At any time you can substitute one for for the other. FDE and OD green napkins available in limited quantities
  8. If I ever do a side charger it will be an ASA. I like the idea of the non reciprocating charging handle. Im a lefty and that bolt coming at my face scares the bejesus out of me.
  9. I think it's important to keep in mind the Bobro, ADM and Larue are all great mounts and will serve you well. Tom got me hooked on the Warne's. Using them on my handguns and 10/22's at the moment
  10. I never bought a Bobro because I hated the look but I have a friend who works in the business and he said that I really needed to try one to see. I get it now. I love the bipods as well.
  11. This. A friend has the TRG-22 .308 and it's the most accurate factory rifle I have ever seen. Now if I unload $6000 worth of stuff or $4000 and skip the new receiver This would be very cool too. I figure I need another bolt gun, something that hits a little harder than my 22-250 <laughs>
  12. Aside from being in stock, look at the manner Impact is promoting them
  13. Moe+ for me
  14. The Bobro mount is second to none imho. The locking mechanism is genius. The screws are not exposed and the use of Allen nuts seals the deal. The Trijicon mounts are private labeled Bobro. The ADM and Larues would be my second choice with the nod to Larue for looks. In fact I think the Larue is the best looking of the three with Bobro being the ugliest LOL
  15. Posts like this is EXACTLY why this all started and EXACTLY why I'm a stickler for civil conduct, lightheartedness and ego's checked at the door. It takes a group of like minded individuals and crazy bastards to make this happen.
  16. I like that
  17. I dont believe the 10 round LR 308 PMAGS are out yet. DPMS made some faulty mags a few years ago. They were good about resolving the issue with customers. I have never seen the ACS in the wild. They are a relative newcomer in the 308 game.
  18. Brownells also has some free videos you can watch.
  19. Im so used to the old software I cant tell you how many times I forget to click the attach file button.
  20. My old lady bought me this DVD. It was pretty good, especially with regards to testing the safety mechanisms. It's easy to get the parts in there but they need to operate correctly as designed.
  21. I have been on planning to build a few 1911's just never seem to get around to it. These are not as simple as AR15's. A very good understanding of parts interaction is needed for proper fit's and adjustments. Even many drop in parts require fitting. I have done things like replaced and fit barrels and barrel bushings, installed ambi safeties, grip safeties and triggers. For me it has always been a lesson in patience. Something as simple as an ambi safety required a lot of slow fitting, drilling a small dimple for the detent. There are two books you should get before attempting this. JERRY KUHNHAUSEN THE COLT .45 AUTOMATIC JERRY KUHNHAUSEN THE U.S. M1911/M1911A1 PISTOLS A SHOP MANUAL
  22. Ill trade you 98Z5V's pickup for it. Just have to do the deal when it's dark and he's asleep. Probably should roll the truck out of the driveway too. Dont want wake the neighbors either.
