  1. Rings, no doubt. I'll pick some up this weekend. I'm really looking forward to taking this girl out dancing!
  2. Done. If I don't like it, or choose to go a different direction, I'll just sell it. :) http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=152307740
  3. If I don't plan on going out farther than say 500 yards, what power should I be looking for? Will 4-16x50 do the trick?
  4. Might as well continue this conversation here, in case anybody else wants to chime in. My buddy has 2 DPMS LR-308's, and a Savage 308 that he will be shooting F-class competition with. He has a SEALS scope on one of the LRs and on his Savage and can't say enough good things about them. He has shot them countless times in 100-degree temps without the haze others have mentioned. As a matter of fact, I've shot his bolt gun with the SEALS scope and it was a quality piece of glass. I'm leaning that way, mostly due to the price and personal experience with them. And, I have indeed talked to him at a couple of local gun shows.
  5. Anti-Gun Senator Shoots Intruder http://www2.timesdispatch.com/rtd/news/national/article/74-year-old_n.c._state_senator_shoots_wounds_intruder_at_his_home/287987/P10/ Aug 24, 2009 Long time Anti-Gun Advocate State Senator R.C. Soles, 74, shot one of two intruders at his home just outside Tabor City, N.C. about 5 p.m. Sunday, the prosecutor for the politician's home county said. The victim, Kyle Blackburn, was taken to a South Carolina hospital, but the injuries were not reported to be life-threatening, according to Rex Gore, district attorney for Columbus, Bladen andBrunswick counties.. The State Bureau of Investigation and Columbus County Sheriff's Department are investigating the shooting, Gore said. Soles, who was not arrested, declined to discuss the incident Sunday evening. "I am not in a position to talk to you," Soles said by telephone. "I'm right in the middle of an investigation." Soles, a top-ranking Democrat and the longest-serving member of the legislature, already was the subject of an SBI investigation over sexual misconduct allegations with former male clients. (Now, that sounds more like a liberal to me). The Senator, who has made a career of being against gun ownership for the general public, didn't hesitate to defend himself with his own gun when he believed he was in immediate danger and he was the victim. In typical hypocritical liberal fashion, the "Do As I Say And Not As I Do" Anti-Gun Activist Lawmaker picked up his gun and took action in what apparently was a self-defense shooting. Why hypocritical, you may ask? It is because his long legislative record shows that the actions that he took to protect his family, his own response to a dangerous life-threatening situation, are actions that he feels ordinary citizens should not have if they were faced with an identical situation. It has prompted some to ask if the Senator believes his life and personal safety is more valuable than yours or mine. But this is to be expected from those who believe they can run our lives, raise our kids, and protect our families better than we can.
  6. Nope, I need some help on the glass. My buddy has a couple of those SEALS scopes, and really likes them. Do you guys know anything about them?
  7. right on - pics coming up, maybe tomorrow
  8. I picked up my LR-308 tonight ... awesome, HUGE rifle!! 8)
  9. Welcome aboard, great to have you.
  10. Same reasons why I'm such a big fan of my Kimber Ten-II .45 (10+1 rounds) and my FNP-45 (14+1 rounds). But I would take my FNP-9 any day of the week too.
  11. I want one of those!! Nice find man!!
  12. I already have the tracking number, it will get to my dealer Tuesday.
  13. DPMS website quoted $65, but it was only $45 dealer cost for me.
  14. I really like it, especially the short barrel with suppressor. I've also got a PS-90 and a Five-seveN, so my ammo count on 5.7x28 is almost up to par with my 5.56 ammo. 8)
  15. I've got 17 or 18 of the 5.56 PMags for my ARs, they work very well.
  16. SBR (10") RRA with QSM titanium suppressor, plus AR57 upper (10.5") with SWR suppressor.
  17. Awesome. I know the model I ordered has no trap door, brass deflector or forward assist, must be pretty basic. What kind of stock is that?
  18. The price went up. Still good though. $13.50 with "Stimulus" code.
  19. Ordered! 8) One upgrade, I got the fluted barrel.
  20. Welcome aboard! Keep us posted on your progress...
  21. I'm cool with that, all work with this weapon will be done on a bench or prone. I'm having it ordered in the morning, provided I hear back from the dealer tonight.
  22. I can get the basic LR-308 for $999 locally (ordered, should be 2-3 day turnaround). Seems like a good base rifle to get started on. ???????????????
