  1. Botach Defense has a variety of kits here, ranging from under $10 to $300. Adventure Medical Kits has many variations online here, and sell items (such as quik-clot) individually as well. Zee Medical is one of the biggest first-aid companies (our company uses them) and they have kits here that fit about any need. As for info, see this site for some very comprehensive information on kits.
  2. Man, that language just never stuck in my brain. I also did MDL (Microstation Development Language), which is C-based, but never went very far with it. I'll stick with VB, the simple step-child of programming. ;D
  3. This has (coincidentally) been a topic of discussion within the instructor ranks at my self-defense school lately. Some of the real basic things are 4x4 gauze pads, tape, gloves, etc. These can be found in the basic kits available anywhere, Wal-Mart, Target, etc.. Some extra things I carry in my truck kit are an isreali bandage (like an ace wrap with built-in gauze pads for a through-and-through gunshot, etc), either a SWAT or a CAT tourniquet, a good pair of scissors, quick-clot, etc. Quick-clot has become way more available recently, and it is good stuff to have handy.
  4. I use BreakFree CLP almost exclusively. I "liberated" some one-ended q-tips from the first-aid station at the office. I use the cotton end where I can, and the wood end with a cleaning patch in tight spots. For the bore, I use BoreSnakes - got one in every caliber I own.
  5. I use these Shooters Ridge bi-pods from MidwayUSA. Nice quality, sturdy construction, very decent price.
  6. Welcome aboard Matt - you'll find some excellent info on this forum!
  7. In hindsight, I should have plinked down the cash for a couple of them. <munch>
  8. While at SHOT my buddy bought a couple of their triggers, I think the "match" model. They were having a show special, I think they were $200 cash. I got a free hat because of it. 8)
  9. I'm going to one in downtown Houston on Saturday morning - it's a huge show.
  10. LOL, no doubt. These AR-10 parts are like oversized samples of AR parts. :o
  11. Nike can't have been wrong all these years! Just do it! ;D

  14. Cool, I started in Surveying Engineering, then moved into the GIS field. I can survey too. But I don't much anymore. ;D
  15. I ordered some spare parts from DPMS, I've been on a preparatory kick lately, also bought some fresh items for my vehicle first-aid kits. From DPMS I have a complete bolt, 2 firing pins, 2 cam pins and 5 firing pin retaining pins. <munch>
  16. Cool! I'm anxious to hear how the accuracy is. <munch>
  17. My work - I'm a GIS Manager, so San Diego and Redlands trips are to visit ESRI, a Redlands-based GIS company. SLO was to visit with our SCADA vendor.

  19. Welcome aboard sir!
  20. LOL! I was supposed to take it out this weekend, but started feeling sick on Friday. At least I got it cleaned/prepped for the first outing.
  21. Thanks for the help Drew! I punched it back out and tried from the back end. It wouldn't go, so I pinched the gap a bit and it pushed through, pushed it in from the other side and voila, it's in and secure.
  22. I'll give that a shot. It was indeed difficult to remove, had to punch it out.
  23. Got it through most of the way, since the hole is beveled at the start. I just can't get it the rest of the way in.
