DEER HUNTER Posted December 2, 2014 Report Posted December 2, 2014 He's not as good as my other one I posted but he's a much bigger bodied deer. I shot him while chasing a doe and hit him a little further back then I wanted but that's what happens when hunting in a swamp where the trees are 2' apart. I've been hunting with my new AP4 but have had no luck so I took out my Remington 700 30.06 with new timney trigger and bingo.
Toolndie7 Posted December 2, 2014 Report Posted December 2, 2014 he's sticking his tongue out at you :P
DEER HUNTER Posted December 2, 2014 Author Report Posted December 2, 2014 Yeah he wasn't real happy with me.
98Z5V Posted December 3, 2014 Report Posted December 3, 2014 I took out my Remington 700 30.06 with new timney trigger and bingo. Which one did you put in it? I ran the 517 set at 2.5#, and couldn't be happier.
DEER HUNTER Posted December 3, 2014 Author Report Posted December 3, 2014 (edited) 511 Left hand set at about 3-4 lbs. Edited December 3, 2014 by DEER HUNTER
DEER HUNTER Posted December 3, 2014 Author Report Posted December 3, 2014 I'm waiting on 4 Geiselles (2 SSA E's & GS2's) I bought on Black Friday sale from Primary Arms to go in my AR's. I'm really looking forward to seeing how they run in my rifles. The Timney trigger made a tremendous improvement in my 700.
shepp Posted December 4, 2014 Report Posted December 4, 2014 Just heard on the radio today the kill here in wisc was down 25% this year. Congrads
DEER HUNTER Posted December 4, 2014 Author Report Posted December 4, 2014 Its been a bumper crop of Bucks this year where I live but I've noticed I haven't seen as many does.
shepp Posted December 4, 2014 Report Posted December 4, 2014 Hard winter in the north the past two years, and I think the "cwd eradication" is finally taking its toll
DEER HUNTER Posted December 4, 2014 Author Report Posted December 4, 2014 In Georgia we can take 2 bucks and 10 does and in truth I've never 2nd guessed that. But this year I've noticed the does were far and few in between. There is a buck only time during December but I'm thinking 10 does are to many to take per hunter. I've shot 3 deer this year and my freezers full however I'm trying to shoot one more for my parents.
DEER HUNTER Posted December 4, 2014 Author Report Posted December 4, 2014 Hard winter in the north the past two years, and I think the "cwd eradication" is finally taking its toll I've heard the CWD is terrible.
shepp Posted December 5, 2014 Report Posted December 5, 2014 I've heard the CWD is terrible. Wisconsin over reacted no other state that I know have had gone to the eradication extent that we have
shepp Posted December 5, 2014 Report Posted December 5, 2014 Yea the DNR really has their heads up their asses here on a lot of things
Morgan Posted December 15, 2014 Report Posted December 15, 2014 Michigan has also reported a 25 to 30% decline in deer kill, over all. Not so in my back yard, where we can't hunt them. So, I just take pictures.

DEER HUNTER Posted December 15, 2014 Author Report Posted December 15, 2014 That's one thing we don't typically have, a harsh snow filled winter that is. One thing we do have to deal with is farmers that are sick of their crops being eaten by herds of deer. So they get crop permits and shoot any they see. I understand their frustration but as a hunter I don't want the deer wiped out either.
shepp Posted December 15, 2014 Report Posted December 15, 2014 We can get crop damage tags up here too
DEER HUNTER Posted December 15, 2014 Author Report Posted December 15, 2014 And I understand why but some take it a little to far in my humble opinion.
