In the middle of my M5 build. AP matched receivers with an AP barrel, was planning on using an AP bolt as well but just saw the sale at Ares on NiB. Should i have any concerns with headspacing or quality if I hit "buy"?

Hey Leather   I went and looked at it for ya....looks to be nice, but I dont know of anyone using this....maybe cause it just came out.

I would buy it though....as for head spacing...its always a good idea to do that ....With all the crap that Ares is going thru with the feds...you may even get it hand delivered to you by the suits  :)  Wash

Thanks, just noticed it doesn't have FA. Will continue the search. TY

That doesn't matter on a .308 AR...   The forward assist will only index and catch off the shoulder anyway, in these big things.  Don't let that stop you.

I have one of the ARES NiB 5.56 BCGs.  Runs like a champ.

So I didn't ask a ton of questions for this build, but I spent hours searching this forum and silently gaining knowledge from all of you.  I'm really happy (pre range trip) with the build and hope to be even more so once some rounds get put through her.  She isn't the most high tech, she isn't the lightest thing, but she's mine and I plan to work her.  Thank you all for you help.

@D.R.D. I had wanted the MLok,but ended up knowing someone that bought the keymod in the wrong height and couldn't return. I paid for new handguards on an ar15 build and he gave me those. I did find some of the ss in 15inch for 157.00 online.

I'm still a relative novice, but to the best of my knowledge the .210 IS the DPMS high profile.

As I was putting the gas block on I originally pushed it to the shoulder until I remembered a comment on here about the shoulder normally being set for a front sight and needing to leave a small gap.  As I started to tighten the gas block down (set screw kind) I found that when the rear set screw set into the indent on the other side of the barrel it left a nice little gap right at the shoulder, again making me feel confident.  However as I sit here debating the range tomorrow I'm left wondering, is there any way I can verify that the gas hole in the barrel and the gas block aligned correctly?  I purposely haven't tighten the handguard screws down just in case I needed to pull it all apart.  Any tricks I'm unaware of?

You're good.  The dimple in the barrel is EXACTLY opposite of the center of the gas port on the barrel.  The rear set screw hole on the gas block is EXACTLY opposite of the center of the gas port in the gas block.  You can't be more centered than that.  Have zero fear that your gas block is lined up exactly over the gas port in the barrel.  Zero fear.
