392heminut Posted October 11, 2015 Report Posted October 11, 2015 I'm going to be in Tucson Saturday, the 17th with my son Josh to meet his future in-laws. He wants to go shooting and we're figuring on going right after lunch until about 5;00 PM. Not sure yet where to go shooting though, the in-laws live in the Vale area but we are looking more on the north side as when we get done we are going to the 1912 Brewery which is on the north side.Jon, think we might be able to hit the Marana range?

planeflyer21 Posted October 11, 2015 Report Posted October 11, 2015 Excellent!We don't have the range the 17th but SERP will be open, spitting distance from Pima County Fairgrounds and MUCH closer to Vail! By about 25 miles.I would say let's hit the desert near Vail but everywhere we used to shoot over there is now housing.http://webcms.pima.gov/cms/one.aspx?pageId=595SERP is tightly controlled but there is still plenty of blasting to be done.
392heminut Posted October 11, 2015 Author Report Posted October 11, 2015 Let me check with Josh, he said someone by the name of Alan was going to shoot with us, that may be his fiance's dad. If that's the case he may know of a place in the desert near there to shoot at. I figured if we could go to the Marana range it would be close to the brewery when we were done. SERP looks to be an option, but it looks like it's really structured and we might have more fun just going out to the desert if that is an option! I'm wanting to play with my bumpfire stocked AR and I'm sure Josh is going to want to try out that 300 BLK with the can. I'll have to put that top end on my pistol bottom end with the (ahem) Sigbrace since I'm coming from out of state and can't bring the SBR.
