It is chambered for 7.62 with 1 : 10 barrel twist (I think).What options do I have as far as ammo on the cheaper end of things? I usually like to stock up on ammo when I find good deals. jtallen83 Posted January 2, 2016 Report Share Posted January 2, 2016 I'd start with an assortment of bullet weights and brands. Even rifles with consecutive serial numbers can like different loads. No sense stocking up till you know what they like to shoot.For cheap plinking ammo I like the ZQ stuff sold at Walmart, about as cheap as you can get a brass cased M-80 clone load. beantown Posted January 2, 2016 Report Share Posted January 2, 2016 I just did the 20 round break in on my LR-308 Oracle with Remington 150FMJ and it ran great. I also shot a few rounds of the Walmart ZQ and I was impressed for the price. Good stuff to stock up on IMHO. I'm looking for a bulk deal on it. When I looked at it Wednesday I thought for sure it had a 16 or 18 inch barrel...Turns out it is a 20 inch...Came with the SKB case, 2 pmags and a stock (pinned) dpms mag. I think I did well!
