Boog Posted July 17, 2016 Author Report Share Posted July 17, 2016 10 hours, 15 minutes. I swam around 20 of the 17 miles. I say that because the tidal current coming in was around 3 mph while I was only swimming 2 mph. Then a significant storm caught us about a half mile from the end. Evidently, they say I can't swim during lightning. right about then, the boat lost an engine and the other engine got stuck hard to port, all they could do was turn a circle. The waves rose to two feet with around 40 MPH wind and the vessel began floundering around. The owner's wife fell into the table and it broke lose. The next big bump tossed her onto the post where the table was and cut her hand. My 19 year old son went to help her and was tossed around cutting his hand too. We banged around and hit a private pier but finally got her lashed down.
