MikedaddyH
Let's asks Dan Wheldon what he thinks of single grooved race tracks ? Oh wait... We can't ! R.I.P.

survivalshop
Well , it doesn't seem that we are going to find out , unless I want a 14" Barrel , which I don't . I got this this morning , I apologize but we do not have any of the 16"'s left. I am refunding the order. I do know we have some of the 14"'s. nate I got a tracking number which shows up on the Fedex web sight saying a table was made , but no travel , but a delivery date of today . Some strange stuff going on here . I just looked & it shows the Barrel I wanted is out of stock now , I guess it was meant to be , I liked the Barrels configuration , a Med. wt. BBL> , The 14" is a Light wt. Edited July 21, 2016 by survivalshop
MikedaddyH
Can you take a picture of the inside of the barrel ?

It seems I'm not getting one to take a photo of , nor do I care any more , this one filled all the spec's I was looking for , except the single groove thing , which I think is a play on words anyway . MikedaddyH
This kind of disappointing , wanted to see a barrel with a single groove in it. I don't believe it will work. If they are producing a poly grooved barrel that the rifling is pulled through with a single pass then they need to change the wording on their web site. survivalshop
If the 14" was like that Mid wt. I wanted , I might have gone for it , I don't believe in pinning or welding a Muzzle device on a Barrel to make it 16", but I like some beef in my Barrels
MikedaddyH
Lance does a silver soldier and makes the seam almost invisible. Look in to that method on a project.
308lrnewb
I am guessing it is a broached barrel.. if memory serves, Pac-Nor was offering broached polygonal rifle barrels. Though, I forgot if they are the ones. Tactical Machine as a whole is very sketchy to me. I avoided them after some short sighted experiences on the 1911's. Their products were not rated well and the customer response was horrid. A one sentence response email for a series of six questions left me wanting. Know nothing about them now, I last interacted with the Nate fellow about two years ago. Guess maybe it was just the billybob machinists not getting their zero properly indexed. *shrug* Total bummer about the barrel.. possibly, he dropped the 14" in the mail? Or.. read this thread and had a change of heart! Try chatting up Pacnor and see if they will cut a barrel and extension for you in 16" poly. I however was informed by most benchrest shooters that poly rifling was prone to throwing or stringing. Perhaps it was just some hype about them pulling a shot. Though, I have also heard true poly barrels by HK tend to live forever... or close enough.
survivalshop
I have had nothing but good products from Tactical Machining & your response is the first I have heard of any issues with their products . They have always quickly answered any info or request I have had about there products . This barrel was probably out of stock & someone wasn't on top of their web sight , I can tell you every time I have been there they were all very busy & its understandable with the way things have been going on for eight or more years . 308lrnewb
Hmm. Good to know. I only had marginal experience with them. One email response, if a single sentence can be called such... Never returned my calls. Needless, I went another route. Glad someone else can vouch positively for them. If they are that busy when you visited the store front, it would lend itself to understanding postures about the customer service discrepancies. Bummer about the barrel either way. survivalshop
It was meant to be I guess , I'm more into Stainless Steel Barrels any way & I see that Criterion , will Nitrate one for me in the profile I want , so no problem , I have three of their Barrels on 308AR's & they are top notch in my book .Time to see how there 5,56 ( 223 wylde ) barrels work .
