El guapo
So I bought a PA-10 complete upper but couldnt find a lower to go with it so I picked up an aero lower with a dpms lower parts kit, rifle length buffer tube, and rifle length dpms buffer. Upon assembly the bolt carrier group is scraping on the buffer and damaging it. I also cant get the pin in to close the upper and lower together. Should I get an aero upper and swap the barrel, forearm, and bcg onto it or should I buy a PSA lower and switch parts to it? Is there a 3rd option? Thanks in advance. 98Z5V
Pics of these parts are gonna help - then we can really see what we're working with. Especially that DPMS rifle length buffer. Parts being what they are, you'll be better off in the long run with an Aero upper, than a PSA lower. There's some proprietary schit going on with PSAs 308AR... 392heminut
What 98 said! The PSA uppers seem to place the BCG just a bit lower than all the others out there and it is just enough that it causes problems with builds using other manufacturers lowers. Like 98 said, get you an Aero upper and solve the problem. You can always set the PSA upper to the side and get a PSA lower later on and build yourself a second 308! Wouldn't be the first time somebody around here started a second build just because they had a spare part lying on the bench!
shepp
Isn't that PA10 an armilite pattern?
survivalshop
More then likely by not being able to set the Disassembly Pin in place, its the cause of the BCG hitting the Receiver Extension . What has been said is correct , there is more then likely Tolerance Stacking of the two different manufacturers Receivers & as said the easiest way is to swap out the Upper with an Areo & sell the PA 10 Upper . I would like too see Photo's of the Fitment issue also .

98Z5V
Dump the PSA stuff - they're not even making "DPMS LR308 patterned" parts to a "pattern." Any pattern. Again, there's some proprietary schit going on with their 308 stuff.
El guapo
Can I just ditch the receiver itself and use the bolt and barrel that came with it and not have any problems? Or does everything on the upper need to be replaced?
survivalshop
Most likely just the Upper Receiver needs to be changed . Like 98 said , all their products seem to be proprietary & not play well with others. We have always said , if you are building an 308AR , the fist step in not having a fitment issue is, to use the same Manufacturers Upper & Lower Receiver set .
