1010
i recently picked up a Rem. R25 in .308...i have a scope mounted on it on some Medium rings (it is almost too low, but i can still see well enough to make a shot) anyway im going to get some "high" rings which will be much more comfortable to see through....im also looking to buy some BUIS..so my question is, how many of you have a rear BUIS mounted under your scopes...and what size rings are you using...??? high or extra high..?the sights im looking to buy folds down to .435" (rear)
98Z5V
On my .308 I'm not running any backups at all - I don't personally think I'd ever need them on that gun, for what I do. On my 5.56 20" precision rig, I am running a set of the MagPul MBUS 2 lower profile sites, and I'm clearing the rear site with a set of high rings. I'll try to get some measurements for you on that stuff and post back, but the next couple of says are stupid-busy for me. I might not be able to get the data until Tuesday... RayGun19
You can run lower rings if you use the Dueck Defense RTS BUIS. It requires that you have a rail gas block though. I don't think I'd ever need to remove my scope either, but I shoot practical rifle and combat rifle. And some stages are iron sights only. While everyone else is removing their optics, I just roll my rifle 30 degrees right, and engage. <thumbsup>

survivalshop
I just put a Burris PEPR on my 300BLK .Its the second one I have & makes the sight picture perfact for me ,but I have my scopes so far back (maybe my old eyes ) that I can't get any BUIS under them .Just doesn't matter what mount or rings I use. 98Z5V
Good catch - might be the scope. I'm running the PEPR mount on one gun with a Millett DMS-1 scope, and it clears a MagPul MBUS backup. Small-eyepiece scope, and it just makes it.
1010
i had to make a few calls to find the info but here it is:Konus M30 1-4x24 ocular bell: 46mm (1.81")Burris PEPR mount center line: 1.59"Diamondhead BUIS folded rear: .43"1.59"-.91 (1.81"/2)= .68"-.43"= .25" so the scope will clear the BUIS with .250" of room to spare... 8).125" would be better but at least it will fit..!! survivalshop
what kind of BUIS were you trying to mount nuder the scope...? how big is the eye piece on the scope..?Magpul gen II , BUIS, Bushnell 1.5x4.5x 38 & they don't fit under my extra high Burris Tactical rings for my Millet TRS1.Yes both scopes are too big to put them under, probably because how far back they are for me to get a good sighting ,but I would not use them any way ,its not like the mounts are quick release ,so for me the buis is not needed with these scopes .Now, most of the CQB scope types ,there would be room & I would use a quick release mount.
