redneckchewbacca
i have given up hope on bushmaster.... i have switched to the Rock River Arms Lar-8 .308 Elite Operator. Good choice? Bad choice? optics?
RayGun19
Did you get it, or just order it? If you ordered it, good luck on getting one this year.If you haven't ordered it yet, do yourself a favor and order an Armalite AR10 instead. You'll have it in 2 weeks, and there are PLENTY of options you can swap onto that platform. If you don't believe me, do a search on here on RRA. washguy
i have given up hope on bushmaster.... i have switched to the Rock River Arms Lar-8 .308 Elite Operator. Good choice? Bad choice? optics? Why dont you just build one? You will have some fun building what you want and maybe save a lil money? If you can chew gum and walk at the same time you can build one of these....lolWash
JGshooter
Raygun is right... I had a RRA elite operator on order for six months, after I was told 6 to 8 weeks. I gave up and got an Armalite. (great AR)If you are buying off the rack, I'm sure its a good weapon, but if you have to deal with The Rock River its not worth the frustration .. RayGun19
Hey! That's the one I got. 10 business days from order to my hands. I'm sure the Socialist Republic of Illinois had something to do with it even taking that long since it was Illinois to Illinois.I will say this, if I ever want another, I'm buying an upper from Armalite, and then just a lower receiver and filling it with my goodies. I was all set to put a Geiselle trigger in there too, but I ACTUALLY LIKE the stock trigger Armalite supplies. So all I have is the stock stock left over as I replaced it with the Magpul UBR.+1 Lifetime customer for Armalite.
98Z5V
i have given up hope on bushmaster.... i have switched to the Rock River Arms Lar-8 .308 Elite Operator. Good choice? Bad choice? optics?I know you were asking earlier about the BM Vista Hunter - I think you'll have a few troubles getting any BM for a little while, just due to the primary Bushmaster factory in Windham, Maine shutting down. They'll be available again when everything gets sorted out, but I still think that's the reason you're having the problems that you are.Moving to RRA is definitely NOT a good choice recently. I'm talking "recently" as in this year, or last year. They might improve, but it doesn't look like that will happen anytime soon. Bushmaster could build a new factory from the ground up in a completely different state, and probably ship you a rifle - before you'd get something you ordered from Rock River.Take that for what it's worth. That's only my $0.02, but I'd make a wager on it being an accurate guess-timation.
imschur
keep in mind lengthy lead are typical among some of the bigger names in the business. Military orders, large dealer orders etc will take precedent over the one off builds.A DPMS can take 6 months to 2 years depending what you order. Thats why whenever possible buy one of the rack thats closest to what you desire. I mention Armalite often lately because they are making a special effort to keep certain models available for immediate purchase.
