I currently have an 18 inch barrel on it. Let's say I want to put a 20 inch barrel.. What needs to be done? I keep hearing that the bolt needs to be bought from the same company, I've heard it's fine to just change the barrel, it's all very confusing! Best practice is to buy and sell bolts and barrels together. Correct headspace is pretty much guaranteed that way. Boot_Scraper Posted May 29, 2018 Report Share Posted May 29, 2018 I removed my 18" factory PSA and installed a Faxon 16" pencil. I had the PSA bolt checked with the Faxon by a local gunsmith and it was GTG. No defects noted. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Boot_Scraper Posted May 30, 2018 Report Share Posted May 30, 2018 FYI, i had a helluva time removing the barrel nut. If you do too, freeze it.
