I have a DPMS Sportical its a 16 " barreled carbine which I purchased in 2008.Im wanting to get suggestions for the best route to follow. My gun has a Vortex strikefire red dot,a harris bipod and thats about it.I was wanting to get rid of the bipod and put a vertical grip /bipod in its place.I also want to change the stock to a collapsable that has alittle more cheek rest, maybe a Vltor. My gun has the round stock forearm on it now.Is there a way to attach a section of rail underneath the fore arm or how do I got about attaching these accessories.Do I have to go the drop in railled route.

You can can the whole handguard setup and add a free-float handguard to it.  That will give you the most flexibiliy, and isolate the barrel from any tension you would put on it with standard handguard setups.

For a stock option, there are many.  If you need more cheek riser adjustment, I'd suggest one of these.  I picked one up recently, and it's quite nice.

depends on length and material a lot on that. you can get some carbon fiber ones that are very light, but even aluminum I don't think is that bad on weight, especially for the benefits. if you are running a bipod/grip, having a free floating handguard is the route I would go.

Magpul MOE & you can use MLOC at 2,6 & 10 o'clock positions ( might require some minor fitting ) https://www.magpul.com/products/moe-mlok-hand-guard-carbine-length-ar15-m4

Magpul CTR stock has two different size cheek risers that clip on .https://www.magpul.com/products/ctr-carbine-stock-mil-spec

I think your DPMS may require a Commercial size Stock , need to measure the outside diameter of the Receiver Extension ( Buffer Tube )
