Dexterity Posted April 28, 2019 Report Posted April 28, 2019 Hi I'm looking at getting a cheap complete upper and lower and mating a shorter barrel to the upper assembly. My question is will this assembly directly mate up to this 16" barrel? Gas block and all? Complete upper: https://palmettostatearmory.com/psa-gen2-pa10-18-midlength-308-win-1-10-stainless-steel-15-m-lok-lightweight-upper-with-bcg-and-ch-516447548.html Barrel https://thundertactical.com/product/16-308-barrel/ Thanks!
Dexterity Posted April 28, 2019 Author Report Posted April 28, 2019 Or would it be better to just take the barrel to a shop and have it shortened?

DNP Posted May 2, 2019 Report Posted May 2, 2019 If you want a 16, I'd shop for an upper with a 16 or just assemble from scratch. The 18 is a good length too though. As for the specific question, if both barrels take the same diameter gas block, and both are mid length, you would have good odds. As long as one of them doesn't have a funky length on the gas tube dimension. I have not reviewed the links to verify the data of each, but with that ammo you should be able to research the two a little.
