Matt.Cross
All right gentlemen, I had a gun store owner offer to sell me a brand new FN FNP-45 for $700 total, and that includes a 15 round magazine and two 14-round magazines. Is that a good deal or is that average?I'm gonna end up with one of these anyways, but what is a good price?
imschur
You want the tactical model imo
Matt.Cross
I looked at the tactical model but the price was much and I mean MUCH higher, and I didn't like the thought of dragging the higher sights out of a carry holster. It seems easier to buy the model I was looking at and buy a threaded barrel later. That's not to say that the tactical model isn't a gun I'd love to have, it's just i'm looking to replace the 1911 I sold as a carry pistol. The FNP is awesome for my extra-long hands, given the large capacity and grip size, it's an excellent candidate at the moment. I was really impressed by how smooth the trigger was, both in double and single-action pull.
imschur
The tactical also has the built in capacity to have a dot sight. They sure are big weapons. I love mine

Matt.Cross
D'oh!!! :oI KNOW, I KNOW >:( ;)Trust me, I've kicked myself many times since then as well... but it also means I get to go on a therapeutic spending spree to salve my wounds. ;D So the good old Rock Island 1911 I sold will probably not be missed when my FNP and Ruger SR1911 are there to comfort me. Madhouse
$700 is indeed a good price. But the FNP-45 is a bit bulky as a carry piece, IMHO.
