Nelius Posted October 20, 2019 Report Posted October 20, 2019 (edited) Hello friends, I am new to the .308 scene and i'm looking to purchase an AR10. I want something that I can have fun with that will be accurate 500-600 yards and would also be decent for hunting. I'm starting to enjoy the precision shooting but not looking to spend the $3000 some manufactures are asking. I saw a pretty good deal on a Diamondback with a 16 in. barrel (although I would plan to switch out for a 20 in. barrel and a trigger upgrade). There are not very many reviews on them and I was just looking for some insight. I was also considering going with an Aero Precision to build. I was thinking of spending $1500-$2000 (not including optics) If anyone has had any experience with Diamondback or if you just want to add 2 cents/suggestions id appreciate it. Thanks. Armed Eye Doc Posted October 20, 2019 Report Posted October 20, 2019 I believe that @Belt Fed has a couple of them. You can do pretty much anything you have stated with a good 16 inch barrel. A Larue MB2 is a great trigger and worth more than the $87 they ask.
98Z5V Posted October 20, 2019 Report Posted October 20, 2019 Matrix Aerospace makes the receivers for them, and the rails, I think. On the receivers, I'm positive. There's nothing at all wrong with the Matrix/Diamondback rifles, they're good.
392heminut Posted October 20, 2019 Report Posted October 20, 2019 I'm doing a pistol build on a set of Diamondback receivers and the Sig 12.5" barrel. I like the receiver set and they are almost Identical to my Matrix upper and lower. My Matrix build has been fantastic and I don't foresee the Diamondback build being anything less.
Belt Fed Posted October 22, 2019 Report Posted October 22, 2019 Diamondbacks are good to go. Mine work as they should.
