My guns are for recreation mostly.  I grew up shooting. Did you ?  That makes it a recreational sport in my opinion.  Being a Security specialist, I preach that guns are not weapons.  Thats where alot of us faulter.  Why ? My cousin once told me: " I can kill a person with a toaster oven, does that mean we should ban small kitchen applicances?" .    After working in the "security" field for many years, I realize that most people consider firearems as weapons.   Its the toaster oven thats a weapon !

I grew up shooting, hunting, and did over 20 years in the US Army.  I hunted for real.  When it counted for this country.

What are you, a Mall Cop or something?...

You might be severely fucked up on what the Second Amendment REALLY means.  You know, since it's just "recreation" for you.  You need to get to an Appleseed Shoot near you, and learn the real deal.  What this country means...

Use to be a "Mall Cop", but not any more.   One thing I can tell you is, both "Mall Cops" and "Real Cops" do reports !   If I seen a guy with a sidearm, I didn't consider it a "Weapon", but a "Pistol".    Like I said, the toaster oven is a weapon !

You just made my day.  Completely.  You totally made my day.  You were a Mall Cop. :laffs:

What you are is a complete Troll.  Nothing more.  :hail::banana:

Every gun is 100% a weapon, with a very specific purpose.  That purpose is expressly spelled out and protected by the constitution. A gun can also be used for hunting or recreation or opening cans of soup but it doesnt change the reason I carry one every time I leave the house. Trying to downplay this fact is a tactical retreat and a kick in the balls to the founders and their vision.

To answer your question....I throw money at AZCDL and GOA. I send out emails when they send me legislative alerts. Mostly I stack ammo and train.

Damn, remind me to never get on your bad-side!....LOL

People can use deadly force and have no weapons at all.  Folks need to realize what this means and how it plays into defending yourself and others.   Most need a little more than just the "toaster oven" analogy.  I've heard that before but don't use it when I teach others for CCW and use of deadly force.

IF a person is using "force" on another which could cause serious bodily injury or death, regardless of the method, or weapon, then deadly force may be on your list of things to use to stop that behavior.  Doesn't mean that you have to use deadly force just because all the elements may be in place to do so.

Case in point.  IF I saw someone kicking another guy in the head while he was down that certainly meets the requirements (provided that you can articulate it could or would cause serious bodily injury or death based on your knowledge of anatomy and past life experiences), however if I simply touch my weapon and tell him to stop, and he does, then the problem is solved with nothing more that verbal task direction.

So a little common sense applies when it comes to using deadly force.  Basically, what I tell my students (small arms and LE instructor for decades) is to NEVER shoot someone who doesn't need to be shot, and ALWAYS use the minimum amount of force to compel compliance.   That's the short version and simply rule to follow.

Of course there will always be one or two students in the group who come up with nearly impossible "what if" scenarios.  Despite the circumstances one needs to follow the basic rules above and more times than not you'll be fine when an investigation is done and others are scrutinizing your actions......FWIW......

Back on topic and gun-restriction stuff, it starts with every single one of us standing together and letting our views be known in public Forum, thru our Representatives, and hitting the ballots at every election.  I've already made it well known that the only way anyone is taking my guns away is to pry them from my cold-dead fingertips......

So if you lived in Virginia and tommorrow that new bill passes, you wouldn't turn in your rifle ?   I keep thinking how I would handle such a situation if I lived there. For some folks, that are old, I guess they don't really care. But, if your a young , its got to be a tough decision. Those people will be felons after tommorrow if they don't comply.   I'm assuming lots of rifles will buried in the ground in the next few months and reported lost.
