douglas Posted February 19, 2020 Report Posted February 19, 2020 I would like to buy a 60 round stick magazine for my 300 blackout ar. some manufacturers have said they arent reliable for this round, has anyone ever tried. The casing for 300 blackout is the same as 556 so I dont know why it wouldn't work. I watched a video of Hickok 45 shooting a 300 blackout ar and he was using a 60 round stick magazine from surefire
Belt Fed Posted February 19, 2020 Report Posted February 19, 2020 Can't help you with the surefire but the 60 round magpul drum works with the 300.

Depends on the load/projectile, more than anything else, for 300BLK. You can run anything from 110gr to 220gr subs for BLK. The heavier you go, the more ogive you have, and that gets into the guide ribs on AR15 mags. 220 Subs? Probably not gonna work on a Surefire 60. 125 Supers? Wouldn't have a hiccup. So, what ammo are you shooting?

douglas Posted February 20, 2020 Author Report Posted February 20, 2020 thanx, I am new to 300 blackout but so far I love it
Belt Fed Posted February 20, 2020 Report Posted February 20, 2020 It's a fun round to shoot. and deadly on game within it's reach.
douglas Posted February 22, 2020 Author Report Posted February 22, 2020 The question is what is its reach. I have read it is a 100 to 200 hundred yard load, but I have read some that say they have taken feral pigs at 400 yards

I'm sure it's possible to take game 400 yards or better. would need practice to accomplish it on a steady basis. but for that range I would invest in a different caliber upper.
