Bullseyeshooter
Thanks, I think that will have to be the one. I was hoping for something more versatile but it is what it is. Thanks for the confirmation that this one is the one to get.
98Z5V
Does anyone know if this AR-10 tool works on the LR-308s as well? PRECISION REFLEX, INC. BARREL NUT WRENCH http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/pid=27412/sku=714-000-007/Product/AR-15-Barrel-Nut-Wrench <munch>I've got this barrel nut wrench, but bought it for the AR-15 builds that I do. I haven't built any Armalite AR-10s yet, so I can't say if it would work on DPMS-based builds. The handguard I used for my DPMS-based .308 AR build was a Troy MRF-308, and that's basically the stock AR-10 barrel nut with DPMS threading - it installs with wrench-flats. I used a bigass crescent wrench on it. <thumbsup>
DeltaEliteMan
Sorry to revive such an old thread but I got bit by ordering the stupid Brownell's 308 armorers wrench for the barrel nut on a LR-308B. >:( Wish it would have said in the description it doesn't fit DPMS barrel nuts! *It did say in the reviews (which I didn't read). A 308 barrel nut is a 308 barrel nut right? That's what I get for assuming. Grrrrrr... And the right wrench is out of stock! Double Grrrrr... Who knows how long I'll have to wait for the correct wrench to come in? Never gonna get my build done at this rate. :'(
98Z5V
The PRI barrel nut wrench is a badass piece of kit. Hang onto it, you might need it down the road - or receive it, and list it for sale here for the same price you paid for it. It's very, very good. <thumbsup>
shibiwan
I bought this one a couple weeks ago: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00EA56GVI/ref=oh_details_o07_s00_i01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 The front side fits AR15 nuts (and the Troy 308 nut) while the pins on the back fit on a regular 308 nut. Powdercoating is pretty thick on it but once that scraped away, the pins fit in perfectly.
str8shuutr45
I bought a PRI one from MidwayUSA a few weeks ago....it fit the FF handguard/rail on my LR308 Mk12 perfectly. All you need is a 1/2 socket wrench
