Cunuckgaucho Posted July 15, 2022 Report Posted July 15, 2022 A lot of those that served in Korea didn't get the recognition they deserved. The politicians and their need to downplay the war by calling it a police action did a disservice the those that fought.

The politicians and their need to downplay the war by calling it a police action did a disservice the those that fought. I was thankful for the Korean Defense Service Medal. The Korean War never ended, and still hasn't ended to this day. It's tense, in South Korea, for a tour of duty. I've been there for 4 tours, and 10 TDYs, that all total to over 6 years of my life in that country, and in it's defense. I had 3 one-year tours that always ended up being 13 months, a 2-year tour that ended up being 26 months, and a fuk-ton of TDYs. The recognition in 2002, and the creation of the Service Medal, gave recognition to the duty you have to endure there. It ain't easy, even if you speak the language.
