Lapping Upper Receivers that are Cerakoted?

i know you can lap anodized, but can you do the same to cerakote?

I don't see why not.  Lapping is taking the coating off the front of the receiver to make sure you have a square face for the barrel to sit against.  Ceracoat and Anodize are both coatings.  They will both come off with valve grinding compound and a lapping tool.

^^^  Exactly what Pete said.  Of course you can lap a Cerakoted upper receiver.

I've lapped both before and after Cerakote, no difference.
