Bullseyeshooter
My build is progressing. I just got in the DPMS Quad Rail for the A3 upper receiver. A post here said it was made by Yankee Hill for DPMS. The quality is good, its the right height for the A3 receiver and it screws on fine. The Jam nut affirms it is Yankee Hill. I got a Yankee Hill installation tool but it is a little off and will not fit in the barrel nut. Two pins fit but one is slightly off. Anyone have an Idea of what to do or another tool that will do the job? <munch>
98Z5V
Drew posted up info on an adjustable spanner wrench sometime in the past. Search on "spanner wrench" and it should come up. <thumbsup>

Bullseyeshooter
Thanks for the post. One question. How do I know how much torque to put on the barrel nut when not using a torque wrench? As tight as I can manually? Buy the way this site has been extremely helpful in my build. I have everything to complete the build now except a muzzle break and head space gauges. I will have to back track on the trigger group latter. <thumbsup>
hobbesgunner
Some use the tight as you can get it by hand then use wrench to tighten to next hole that lines up method .....probably as good as any
survivalshop
I agree , just make sure you tighten & loosen the nut three times with the third being the one you finish at & alien the gas tube passage to the upper receiver. ( I assume you are talking about the barrel nut & not the hand guard cinch nut) Ya did say pins though <dontknow>.Grease of course or what ever you personally use, for barrel nut lubricant.I have a bunch of different barrel nut wrench's if ya need one . Bullseyeshooter
Thanks for the advice. That reminds of what a gunsmith told me about the castle Nut. Hand tight and then wrench it I/8 of an inch more. <thumbsup>
Bullseyeshooter
Yes I am talking about the Barrel Nut. Thanks for the advice. <thumbsup>
