santadee Posted February 7, 2012 Report Posted February 7, 2012 hi all, I am going to replace my AR10 carbines collapsible buttstock with a magpul PRS Gen2, this is the one that is for the AR10.My question is that it looks like I need a rifle receiver extension, buffer and spring in order to install it.Does anyone have a good line on what I might look into? I see Brownells has a kit. Thanks for the guidanceD
unforgiven Posted February 7, 2012 Report Posted February 7, 2012 Welcome from Indiana brother Santadee.
mrraley Posted February 7, 2012 Report Posted February 7, 2012 the only things you will need is a standard rifle receiver extension tube, AR-10 (specific) buffer.Use the current buffer spring you already have.
santadee Posted February 8, 2012 Author Report Posted February 8, 2012 Thanks Unforgiven from Indiana! How the weather up there? Houston gettin cold tonight, maybe 42! I ordered a heavy buffer from Slash. Anyone use these buffers?SantaDee
edgecrusher Posted February 8, 2012 Report Posted February 8, 2012 Slash has great buffers and customer service. 42* and cold? Southerners! That's been our average daytime temp here in new England and that's toasty.
unforgiven Posted February 8, 2012 Report Posted February 8, 2012 42 is nice for up here, just 30 min. outside Chicago mildest winter so far shocking to see everyone else getting pounded so hard by the snow.Got family in San Antonio.
santadee Posted February 9, 2012 Author Report Posted February 9, 2012 Wacked out weather <laughs> - Over in Midland, Texas, their annual rainfall is about 14-15 inches, heck they have had about 19 inches of snow so far. Not all at once, but 3-5 inchest per storm.....Crazy. Got a note from Slash and the buffer is on the way....
