Ronin069 Posted February 23, 2012 Report Posted February 23, 2012 Greetings,I'm generally a handgun guy, though for the past x amount of years I have used my trusted 30.06 for deer and bear season. It's about time to move to an AR type weapon for the field, but I am not comfortable with 5.56 for big game. My plan is to surf around this board enough to determine whether or not I have the ability to build my own .308. As a former Marine, my hope is that the level at which we field stripped our A2's will have me prepped for the general idea of what to do, but that may be rather naive?I'll guess we'll see. Looking forward to some engaging conversation, and I have been really please with the interactions I have observed to date.
fr3db3ar Posted February 23, 2012 Report Posted February 23, 2012 Welcome aboard. Other than a few specialty tools, the AR is pretty simple in design. IMO.
edgecrusher Posted February 23, 2012 Report Posted February 23, 2012 welcome, with the help you can get here for building, you'll be all set. it's not all that difficult, and we will support you, except when you run out of money, got five bucks i can borrow? <lmao>

Retired JM Posted February 24, 2012 Report Posted February 24, 2012 Welcome to da site dere, doncha know. Seriously, welcome. Building an AR, regardless of caliber, isn't hard. Building a GOOD AR is a different ball game.
Ronin069 Posted February 24, 2012 Author Report Posted February 24, 2012 Thanks for the warm welcomes all...wondering, any of you know if a decent AR-Builder app for the iPad? I've tried searching but found nothing that has proved at all useful.
edgecrusher Posted February 24, 2012 Report Posted February 24, 2012 if there isn't one it could be a gold mine for you
