jrtMA
Any optic recommendations for my new Marlin? I think a prism scope might be a good direction. This will only be a fun range gun for the time being. Little to no experience with lever actions but had to scratch this itch for some reason. I’ve wanted a 45-70 for a while now. Any other advice is welcome.
Armed Eye Doc
Nice rifle Jay! A good 3x or 5x prism scope would be a nice addition to that.

They’re suppose to be better for aging eyes. I think that’s solid advice. I don’t see much of a point going out beyond x6 for what the rifle is but that’s just personal preference. Just found a company that does a different style +6 “quiver” for the stock. Ranger Point Precision is on the handguard now. I could easily move to an extra 18 carry without going nuts on the handguard 🤔
98Z5V
Brother, I've had my Marlin 1895 GBL since 2015, as my "Merry Christmas to ME" gun. I did the XS Sights lever rail on it, and put on a PA red dot just to see how long it would last on that gun. It ain't dead yet, decade later. I have over 1k rounds through that gun, with that red dot. It won't die. I can shoot that thing to 300 yards easy, with the red dot, with a 100 yard zero. It's a fuqqn beast. 45-70 is the shiit.
