The carry handle setup for a DPMS LR-308 is rare as hen's teeth, in a nutshell.  Haven't seen one available for the better part of 10+ years.  That's just the market.  DPMS isn't a company anymore, and for the 5 years back-then when they were a company, they weren't producing these things because the demand wasn't there.  If you find one, and it's a real DPMS LR-308 carry handle - it's gonna cost you bigly.  Very bigly.  

I can give you the part number to search for, that IS what you're looking for, if you want to go down that frustration-rabbit-hole.  Lemme know.  In all honesty, you never, ever know if one will pop up.  Stranger things have happened.  

Sure, send it my way, because you just never know. "LR-308" okay, and RR, who I was never excited about, "LAR-8", only Armalite, (old and new) get the "AR10" moniker. And the other's? They often seem to just get referred to as what pattern of the above the mimic, or are compatible with. Right? Or?

Good point. In the main, there are two recognizable primary patterns in the market. "SR-25", which is Armalite, the originator of the AR-10 platform, and "DPMS" (LR-308). The "SR-25" pattern is distinguished by radius-terminated straight angles at the rear of the upper receiver, whereas "DPMS" types feature a single large radius.

The RR carry handle is just a little long, can be left overhanging or trimmed. Also need a recess in the receiver for the sight adjustment post.

$185.00. You really have to want one to go through the effort. I really wanted one.

Thanks' I guess the rear sight recess isn't THAT bad. I was looking at the chopped LAR-8 fixed rear sights on eBay, but I caught the protrusion before I bought one. Rock River was happy to sell me one for the AR15, that really did attach and zero easily, with out too much sight raising up front. Well, because it's an AR15/M4 front, the taller one, if I recall?

It would be good to know how to refinish to look okay, carry handle chop too. I mean, could re-anodize, or just a CeraKote that matches, they have a ton of close shades, I'd bet.

Mine was a new build all cerakote finish so didn't have to match anything, but the Graphite Black Cerakote looks close to a lot of the annodizing to me.

I was looking at photos, front was a little long also, had to do just a little bit of relief so the handguard retainer would clear ...
