edgecrusher Posted August 12, 2012 Report Posted August 12, 2012 I recently received my order from Clint at Heavy Buffers, and I am impressed. Drew and I have spoken about doing some buffer and spring comparison's before , so I figured I'd share what I have for info……. Clint, well done, I can't wait to shoot both my existing rifles reconfigured and my new build, thank you! PWS Factory buffer Heavy Buffer Slash's xhcarbine weight 106.1g 239.5g spring datalength 11.25 " 13.5625"coil width .078125 (5/64) .078125number of coils 29 33 Larue OBR Slash .308 rifle buffer124.7 285.8The spring in the Larue must be an Armalite, it was exactly the same as the one sent from Clint. I have no way to test spring tension, the only measurable missing in this comparison.
edgecrusher Posted December 6, 2012 Author Report Posted December 6, 2012 ok, another update on Clint's fine work…. the carbine buffer for the PWS was too long, fixed with a replacement CAR-10 XH…. 186.8 grams…. fixed my issue and let me tell you guys, there is really no comparison between the machining quality of Clints products and your factory piece…. GUARANTEED
imschur Posted December 7, 2012 Report Posted December 7, 2012 my .45 AR buffer is a gem as well <thumbsup>
edgecrusher Posted December 7, 2012 Author Report Posted December 7, 2012 Teaser ... I have to ar 15 carbine change buffers and Wolfe springs I got from Clint ready for .... 8)Btw, I have five of his buffers!
Rsquared Posted December 7, 2012 Report Posted December 7, 2012 I'm sold on Clint's heavy buffers. Especially when running suppressed, or just because........they make a rifle run better. I WILL be getting one for my AR-10 SBR build. Wouldn't ever consider not using one.Ron
sikocycles Posted December 27, 2012 Report Posted December 27, 2012 I guess I will be needing one of these for my Mega build since I dont have buffel or spring yet
